Hello, hive travel community. Hope y’all are doing the greatest! This is my first blog in the hive travel community so let me just have a quick introduction about myself. I’m Merlene, a college student and taking up a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management and I have a lot of love for traveling. Let me share with you this one of my favorite trips that I’ve been into, which is our family’s nature trip in Nambalan River which is the summer capital of Tarlac. In Mayantoc Tarlac, Philippines!
Nambalan River is located in Mayantoc, it is one of the towns in the northwest of Tarlac Province. Just the view on the way to the river is already worth seeing, with a view of green rice fields on both sides, a great landscape and healthy vegetation around, coconut trees and mountains on the other side has a very relaxing ambiance. And the walkway becomes overwhelming as you approach the river ‘cause you can already see the great sceneries.
Dipping in the clean, cool, and refreshing water under the hut’s shade with the mountain’s views and green trees in the background tells it all! It is quite delightful and fun and is really relaxing to sometimes have this kind of trip once in a while.
The cottages rental fee is worth 500 philippine peso only for a whole day of your stay in the River.
And of course, the very good food in this kind of mesmerizing place is a must. So we decided to have a “boodle fight".
Boodle fight is a diner named after the filipino "army style" or “kamayan” of eating. It is when a table is covered with banana leaves (that have been washed and fanned lightly over an open fire for good measure) and filled with all kinds of food to create a feast. There will be grilled meats, steamed fish, fresh salads, and even fresh fruits for dessert, all on one table. The basic rule of this one is strictly no use of utensils.
Nature trips can be incredibly refreshing and fulfilling experiences. Whether you're hiking through mountains, camping under the stars, or exploring landscapes, involving yourself in nature can provide a welcome escape from the hustle of everyday life and having to have some place like this to hide can makes us a bit stronger to face a reality when it’s time to show up, specially whith the people you love and treasure the most. So let’s go and enjoy our little life, you guys!
