In the final part of the Wisconsin section of our Walkabout, we stopped in Green Bay to see if there was any ship movement.
I had previously identified this little spot near the mouth of the Fox River as a likely good spot to watch ships come and go to Green Bay.
Here, I'm looking at the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge, the largest, highest span (from my observations, anyway) over the Fox River. The Grassy Island Range Lights are no longer in service. They were replaced by a newer automated lighthouse (and most of Grassy Island removed) in the 1960s. These older lighthouses were moved to their present location in 1998 and renovated.
When we got to this location, we saw a ship departing Green Bay. I grabbed the pictures I could with my Nikon. (I don't have a working zoom for this camera.)
Even with a severe crop and enlargement of the photo, all I can be sure of is that it's an American Steamship Company ship - and appeared to be American something - which leaves a few candidates, though I was already leaning towards American Mariner.
Fortunately, @emberskydragon was able to use the Kodak's 42x zoom to get an even closer look. Despite the low resolution at this range, we now had confirmation that it was American Mariner that we had seen - as she passed the Green Bay Harbor Entrance Light.
After this, we took the highway north, destined for Michigan... Next post will share some of what we found there.
Photos taken by myself in July 2022 with my Nikon D7200. Ember's picture was on the Kodak AZ401.

@jamerussell - I should have tagged you in the post since this includes a ship that we both know. :)
Nice, at least you were able to get enough distance with Ember's Kodak.
All the seagulls are watching out hahahahahahaha!!!
