Thuy Tien Lake - Abandoned water park in Hue city

in Worldmappin3 years ago

Hello everyone! How are you today?
In the first days of the Lunar new year, everyone seems to be busy participating in New Year's parties with family, meeting relatives in the homeland after a year away from home. Personally, besides parties with family and friends at the beginning of the new year, having small trips to places around the city is one of my hobbies in the first days of the new year. Today I will tell you about an abandoned water park in Hue city. On the first days of New Year, I went to the temple with a friend at the beginning of the year and overheard my friend tell me about an abandoned water park where recently it has been welcomed by many young people and is also a place that attracts many backpackers from home and abroad. we finally decided to go there and discover why this place is said to be the most magical lake in Hue city. Thuy Tien Lake - an abandoned water park appeared in the US newspaper with the rating of one of the most horror water parks in the world. Now, let's explore this fascinating tourist destination with me.

Where is Thuy Tien Lake located in the city?

Thuy Tien Lake is located in Thuy Bang commune, Huong Thuy Town, Hue city nearby the Thien An hill, and it's about 10km from the city. Along with much beautiful natural scenery of mountains and forest, cool atmosphere. The road to this place is surrounded by lots of trees and winding asphalt roads.

The road to the park has two ways, you can go directly from the main road or you can stop by Thien An hill and then go to the park by a small road located inside the hill. Because tourists often stop by at Thien An Hill and then go to Thuy Tien Lake, this route is more popular than directly accessing the main road. So we drove around the pine hill at Thien An and take a small path to this park. As far as I know, this park opened in 2004 and acts as an amusement park for tourists inside and outside the city. After many years of operation, this park has been changed owners and abandoned since 2008 until now.

The Park entrance

The first thing that made me choose this place is it has had a lot of mysterious stories since they were built, besides it has a separate location from the city next to the historical sites, ancient relics with a lifespan of hundreds of years such as Thien An hill, Khai Dinh Tomb makes this place even more mysterious and attractive to those who want to explore places like this. Some people think that because some businesses weren't profitable, the place was abandoned for many years, and no more tourism activities again. The entrance to the main entrance to the park was also closed, but fortunately, there was a small trail next to it enough for us to get inside.

When entered we had a very strange feeling as if we were entering a forest with mysterious things inside, maybe this area has been abandoned for a long time led to the landscape being wild, having a lot of overgrown plants and the surrounding space being strangely quiet.

The scenery and grounds around the lake

The dome house with a dragon above it is the main symbol of the park, the unique architectural style is boldly Asian with the image of a dragon surrounding a precious jewel. Around the lake is an ecosystem of many trees and some small paths, the multi-shaped stone statues that have been abandoned for many years create a terrifying image when you face it alone without a shadow of a person by your side.

A path leading to an old bridge, this is a very strange place with a lot of mysterious things around, I feel a bit scared when I look at the luxuriant bushes when I stand there on the bridge to take pictures of the surrounding scenery.

Follow along the stone path to the dragon's area, besides the trees around this path, there are stone statues of various shapes and all of them have deteriorated through many years of abandonment. From this road, I stopped the car and walked over a small bridge into the dragon area. Everything inside is a spiral staircase leading up to the top area of the dome, many shards of glass from broken glass doors lying on the floor, and the walls covered in colorful graffiti ( doodles drawn on the wall). In the past, there were times when the lake's water was dry and inert because of the hot weather and many days without rain, so this area was said to be difficult to re-develop tourism services as in the beginning.

After walking around and taking pictures of this place I feel that this place is not a place for the faint of heart, although we came here on a mild sunny morning when we went inside, the weather gradually became cooler because it was located in the area of Thien An hill and some deserted resorts with mountain scenes without a single passerby made us feel less confident when walking on the trails. But anyway, this is the first time I've experienced an abandoned tourist area like this, feeling a little scared and curious about everything around, but hopefully, this trip will help readers who have added a new place to the list trips at Hue city.

Thank you for your reading at the end of my post and hope you have a great day.

Love that dragon, it is one of a kind. Greetings from the Philippines!

Thank you so much.

You're welcome (^_^)

The dome house with a dragon above it is the main symbol of the park, the unique architectural style is boldly Asian with the image of a dragon surrounding a precious jewel.

Looks very scary but amazing at the same time. It feels like this is the kind of place you see in movies where magic jewels are hidden and everyone will compete to take them. It is really cool!

You're right. when I looked from outside I thought it will have many mysterious things that were stored inside that dragon.

With a chest full of jewels, golds and precious stones. Ahahahhaha

Every time I go in and read about these places around the world, it amazes me how much we still don't know. every image you took reflects the beauty of the place. I hope one day I can visit it. Congratulations!

Thank you for your praise. I hope you will have a chance to come here and experience many interesting things in this place. 😊
