Back to Da Nang city with an exciting night of walking. Hello everyone, I haven't had a walk in the city center at night since the college suspended offline class due to the impact of covid-19. Now, I have returned to the city for 10 long months at home and returned to my normal life when the epidemic has temporarily subsided. Although the places that I visit are very familiar to many people here, for me after a long time coming back, the city has changed a lot that makes me surprised when I have a trip to experience new places in the city. Join me today for a walk around the APEC park at night which has just been inaugurated on January 10, 2022, and attract a lot of young people from all over the city.
Origins of APEC
APEC stands for Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation, this is an international organization of countries located in the Asia-Pacific region established to strengthen economic and political relations. APEC was established in November 1989 and at present, the organization includes 21 member economies including VietNam.
Where is APEC park?
Located on a triangular piece of land in Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau district, APEC Park is located along the banks of Han River between 2/9 Street and Bach Dang Street in the city center. We can easily see it when standing on the Dragon bridge or opposite the park from the other side of the Han River. Near the park, there are many famous restaurants and coffee shops in the city that you can visit and enjoy many beautiful views from the inside.
Purpose to build APEC park
APEC Park is a gift that VietNam sends to delegates, member economies, and people with 21 statues displayed at the APEC park statue garden, each work is a gift from many countries in the world and these 21 statues represent member's economies in APEC. APEC is a project that symbolizes the spirit of international integration, the desire to reach out to the city's people, and also the desire for a green, safe and friendly city with a natural environment. APEC Park is the connection with Bach Dang pedestrian street and Nguyen Van Troi - Tran Hung Dao bridge and is also an architectural highlight inside the city. This isn't only a gift but also a place of public entertainment for everyone inside the city, the beauty symbolizing the development and face of the city in the future.
The main symbol of the park
The main symbol of the park is the dome structure located on a semi-floating structure consisting of 2 floors. This dome architecture has the idea of "Flying a kite high" showing the solidarity and sustainable development of the organization. Below the work is a living area including many miniatures, fountains, and different special lighting effects. You can park your car in the basement and take a tour around the parking area to discover the many unique architectural styles here. In addition to the unique dome architecture and statue gardens, below the dome is a semi-floating work including a basement for parking and a floor selling souvenir stalls and other tourist services. This area is fully equipped with replacing seats, stalls, and public toilet areas to serve visitors.
Highlight of the night
APEC is famous for its clever installation of the electric lighting system under the dome creating colorful moving colors; gardens and fountains that are also arranged reasonably to create many beautiful scenes for the park. Especially the statue garden area where statues sent from member countries are displayed, all of which are illuminated by lights at night. Each status here carries a special meaning of each country in the APEC, they are also a gift to the city when the park is built. At the bottom of each of these statues is annotated with a small stone inscribed with its name and origin. Many tourists come here and take pictures at night and during the day because of the unique beauty of this park. This is the entertainment place of many young people, many clubs in the city and people around. You can just walk in the park and stop by the dragon bridge or the streets along the Han River to see the city as fully as possible.
Above is my trip to APEC park a new place in Da Nang city, we had an interesting night walking around the city to see the wonderful beauty of Da Nang, the parks along the Han River, the coastal roads, and the electric lights of beautiful skyscrapers.
