A few days ago with @greendo, we traveled to the magical Strandzha mountain and visited the Bulgarian village Evrenozovo, located in South-Eastern Bulgaria.
In 2004 several megalithic sites were discovered in the area around the village: a dolmen, a Roman tomb and a Thracian sanctuary, so we decided to visit them.
The dolmen was very easy to find, as it is located very close to the road that leads from the village Zvezdets to the village Evrinozovo.
On the right, there is a sign that points exactly to the place, and behind the information board, just a few meters away is the dolmen.
It is assumed that the dolmen dates from the 10th-19th century BC. It is built of marble slabs. It has two cameras and a dromos. Its entrance slabs have not survived.
We continued to the village, which is located in the "Strandzha" Nature Park. The name Evrenozovo takes its name from the Turkish word "Evren" (dragon) and is related to the large number of dolmens in the area, (one of which we saw) called "Dragon Houses" by the local people.
There is a new church in the village, the construction of which started in 2015 and which was completed last year. It was built entirely with donations.
The yard is perfectly maintained. There is a built wooden gazebo and a fountain.
The village was not always without a church. There was one built in 1929, but it began to collapse after the village was depopulated.
On the way back we visited the Thracian sanctuary and the tomb.
They are located on the other side of the road about 250 meters from the position of the dolmen.
The Thracian sanctuary is reached by a dirt road.
As we visited in August, when the surroundings are covered with tall weeds and grasses, it was not very visible.
But one can still distinguish the tall stones arranged in a circle.
We continued along the meadow to find the tomb. It was more difficult to find, but there was a stone pyramid in the distance, which signaled that perhaps the object was there.
We headed there and soon enough the tomb was revealed.
The tomb consists of a corridor, vestibule and chamber and has a vaulted roof. It is supposed to date from the 4th century.
Thus ended the journey to the village of Evrenozovo and its ancient sites. We are glad we found them and explored them.

Wow! This place in the Bulgarian village Evrenozovo is very very similar to one that we have here in Mendoza, Argentina. I couldńt believe it if someone had told me that these two cities could have a landscape in common.
