Hello everyone in the Pinmapple community.
Nice to meet you again. I wrote a post about Hoi An ancient town. It was a memorable trip for me. One of the reasons why I came back to Hoi An was that I wanted to enjoy this dreamy town at night. I hope you like my experience. Welcome back to Hoi An.
My first impression when I came to the old town at night was the lantern. No street lights, no neon lights. Instead, there are thousands of lanterns with many vibrant colors. There are even streets dedicated to displaying and selling lanterns.
Hoi An has a river, called Hoai river, situated amidst the ancient town. There are many boats decorated with small lanterns. From a distance, the lanterns look like fireflies creating a unique scene. You can rent these boats for about $5 to $20. You will experience sitting on the boat and walking on the river to watch the ancient town at night.
Restaurants, coffee shops, and even public toilets are classically designed in the style of Asian cities in the 15th to 18th centuries. That's what I just realized when I returned to Hoi An.
When walking around the old town, you will occasionally come across teachers with excellent calligraphy skills, called Thay Do, selling pictures with their handwriting.
Tan Ky ancient house is a building about 200 years old, recognized as a national heritage.
That is a unique drink decorated with a lotus branch and bamboo straws. Its taste is similar to Vietnamese lemon tea but more fragrant. The price of each cup is about 1 dollar to 2 dollars.
The atmosphere here at night is busier than ever. The temperature also droppes, making this place more comfortable. Thousands of people will flock to the streets. Many fairs, cafes, and restaurants make the old town even more bustling. I prefer Hoi An at night. It gives me the feeling of living in a commercial port that was once the busiest spot in Vietnam.
