RE: A quiet day in Novi Sad: grief, unity, and autumn reflections

I have not been to Novi Sad in quite some time now. I have friends there. Maybe I visit next year again. My last visit was October 2023

Previous years, like my first trip June 2017 I was able to go by train from Vienna (but from Budapest onward, it was a very slow trip), later years that changed, the rail on the Serbian side was under construction (it still is, as far as I know). That latest time 2023 I went by bus.

Sort:

Novi Sad is a beautiful city, I hope that your impressions are also good. Unfortunately, the railway station collapsed (canopy) and claimed 16 lives. It was a very sad and unfortunate moment for Novi Sad and whole Serbia.

I was kept up to date about this by my friends. Very sad, but there were instances in other parts of the world in the past, very similar in scope, such as shopping centers collapsing.
