Location:
Museum de Manticao, can be located at Barangay Pagawan, Manticao Misamis Oriental. This place is near at Pagawan National Highschool and it is quitely far from Barangay Poblacion. From the Market, we must be traveled atleast 45 minutes at the fair of 20 Pesos per people. Riding a motorcycle or Tuk-tuk vehicle, we can reached the place. This place is near at electric substations and SMS free tower areas. We can also walk going to Museum de Manticao but it takes an Hour of walking.
As we entering the museum place, first we can see and found this area and we called "Butterfly Garden". There are few butterflies and dragonflies flying around the place perching at the flowering and ornamental plants. It is filled with many different kinds of flowers and ornamental plants that can make the place even more attractive and beautiful.
This are the waiting areas inside of the place. It is made of unique materials just like bamboos coated with varnish to make it shinny and attractive. The chairs are made of hard wood just like Native molave trees. The ground are filled with stones so that ot wont get muddy or dusty. Each side of the waiting areas, planted with many different kinds of ornamental and flowering plants.
There is also a cafeteria in the place, and it will in operational if there are some special events happens. It serves a native and delicious coffee just like "Kape ni Teban". The structure is built with bamboo pieces plainsheets and amakan walls to make it very attractive to everyone. This museum is filled with many different kinds of trees because it is not only a Museum, but also an arboretum place and this will be explored and shared her later on. It has also this deep well and children will really love to see this and can imagine thier favorite Disney cartoons. It is made of concrete so that it can be truly solid and cannot easily broke or damage.
This tarpaulin holds some great historical events happens here in Manticao for the past many, many years ago. Some of the stories written and printed here are the Second World War happens here including the native people who lives first here in the Manticao.
In this simple house decorated with shinny coated varnish bamboo places contains this old things recovered from the past. Some of the things displayed and exhibit here are the old paintings, old bags, type writer, picture of the Second World war and some Farming old tools used by the people back in the old days. Some of the things just like chairs and tables are made of hard wood just like Molave and Mahogany trees.
Arboretum is place were many different kinds of trees can be seen and found, some of the trees located here are this Mahogany and Molave trees and this are some of the Native trees found in Philippines particularly in Mindanao.
This is the Mantukaw hall located in the museum and many different kinds of special activities held here. The place is surrounded with ornamental and flowering plants and also trees that can make the hall cool and relaxing. Weddings, Anniversaries and birthdays are very perfect here in the hall. Each side or corner of the hall decorated with colorful curtains, chairs are wrapped with white clothes and a table skirting.
Museum de Manticao is a great and perfect place to visit, in fact many students and people who came from far away place likes to visit here. Aside for that, they will really gained more ideas about the historical stories happens here in Manticao, Misamis Oriental.
