Hue Citadel - A place imbued with the history of the ancient capital

in Worldmappin2 years ago

Hello, my friends. After busy days with exams at school, I'm back with you guys. Today I will take you to a famous place in Hue, there must have been an article about this place somewhere. The place I would like to introduce is the Imperial Citadel of Hue - a part of the complex of Hue Monuments, bearing the cultural, historical, and architectural imprints of the Nguyen Dynasty, recognized by UNESCO as a heritage World Cultural Heritage in 1993.

Some important information about Hue Citadel

Where is Hue Citadel located?

Hue Citadel is located on the banks of the poetic and lyrical Perfume River, which is one of the relics belonging to the Complex of Hue Monuments from the Nguyen Dynasty.
Hue Citadel was built from the early 19th century to the first half of the 20th century. The panorama of Hue Citadel still retains many unique imprints of feudalism of the Nguyen Dynasty for hundreds of years.
The main Hue Citadel was formerly the residence of the Nguyen kings and the last feudal court of my country.

Referring to Vietnam's cultural heritage, Hue Citadel can be considered a work of the largest scale in the history of Vietnam so far. Hue Citadel has a construction process lasting many years with a huge volume of soil and stone up to millions of cubic meters. Therefore, up to now, Hue Citadel still retains its enduring beauty over time.

The architecture of Hue Citadel becomes one of the tourist attractions when visiting the ancient capital of Hue. With an architecture that does not have an ostentatious appearance, but always closes itself in harmony with the natural landscape, the decoration is very gentle and idyllic, giving people a sense of peace, idyllic, closeness, and intimacy. exudes dignity.

Ngo Mon Gate or Ngo Mon Gate is a massive, monumental construction with very elaborate, sophisticated, and solid patterns. Ngo Mon Gate is not simply the entrance gate but also the face representing the Imperial Citadel of Hue
Looking to the south of the citadel, from the position of Ngo Mon, we can see the Perfume River. The Ngo Mon Gate of the Imperial Citadel area will have 5 gates located here,

Ngo Mon Gate still exists over time and has become an excellent ancient architectural masterpiece where it is also a living witness to many important milestones of the nation's history.

Thai Hoa palace

Thai Hoa Palace is the most important work in the overall Citadel of Hue, Thai Hoa Palace is considered the most prominent feature of Hue royal architectural art, the main material used to build the electricity is ironwood. The electric roof and columns are sculpted with delicate and meticulous dragon shapes. In the middle of the palace is the king's throne placed in a dignified position.

There are many other palaces but because I went with my friends and went by myself, we were not given much information about these places. The entrance ticket here for adults is 120,000 VND, which is almost equal to 6 dollars. and for children is 30,000 VND equivalent to more than 1 dollar.
