Greetings, my dear Hive fellows!
Celebrating the new year is an age-old tradition around the world, and the most gorgeous celebration of a new year is from the Gregorian calendar on the 31st night and then maybe the Lunar Calendar in China and some other adjacent countries. Though all the nations around the world have their own calendar, the Gregorian calendar is the calendar of the world. In China, you can not have holidays during religious festivals like Eid (Except in Xinjiang province), and even on Christmas day, you have to work. But they have a government holiday on 1st January, so you can imagine the impact of the Gregorian calendar worldwide.
I always wait for holidays like the other people because such holidays are much more enjoyable when you have 6 working days! I have my plan to utilize the holiday in my favorite leisure time to explore nature. I have noticed that my most liked blogs are from the northern region of Beijing City, especially Miyun City, which I discovered last year and had some awesome tours there. Miyun City is further north of my living district, Huairou, which is already 50 km north of the Beijing City center. The weather was also very comfortable; I had chosen to spend my whole afternoon and evening in Miyun City, and I visited the Beihe Forest Park, which is the largest park adjacent to Miyun City. There are some mountains on one side, and the Beihe River is alongside the whole park.
I started my journey at noon after I had my launch because I don't set up an alarm on holidays and sleep as much as I like to. So, generally, I was late in waking up and then making myself ready for the tour the rest of the day. The convenient fact was that the transportation to Miyun City is so flexible from my living place. I can get many buses just a 15-minute walk from my institute. It is also more flexible with the rented bicycle, and I used to use my bicycle, but this winter, I prefer walking to cycling for such short distances. I got the bus within 10 minutes and started my journey towards the park. I had to change to another bus as there is no direct bus from the nearest bus stand to my dormitory as the park is quite far from the Miyun City center.
After around one and a half hours, I reached the destination, and the park was about 10 min walking distance from the bus stand. The good thing is that the park is so large, but there was no need to buy tickets, and I have seen most of the forest parks are open to all without any tickets. But there is a mountain in the park, and you can climb up there mountain, which can cost you a little money for maintenance. But currently, the entry to the mountain hiking stairs is closed, I don't know why may be due to winter cold, and snow can be troublesome.
When I entered through the tiny gate, as it was a corner gate, not the main gate, which was far ahead, I wanted to cover the park in a short time to avoid multiple rounds in the same way. As I had access to the whole park's inner roads and the location of the ponds and some observation areas, I made a rounding route to enter and come back at this point alongside the different ways to cove the utmost area of the park in the afternoon sun.
Due to the winter afternoon, the sun was shining, but the temperature was not so high, it was a relatively warmer day than other days in January most of the time. So I enjoyed my walking there with the golden light that was reflecting from every site as you can also feel that the brighter section of the images is more old that the shaded area is supposed to be more brown.
The park is so large to cover in a single afternoon, and with the winter vibe, the whole park seems to be a winter paradise of golden soil. I saw many families exploring, especially the children, were digging on ice as the tiny water bodies were now frozen in the inside ponds of the park. Many people were trying to skate on the frozen ice.
My 1st day of the year in the Beihe City Forest Park was a great start to 2025, and I will continue my journey throughout the whole year when I have time to explore. My schedule is tight, but life needs some relaxing moments, for which I think nature exploration is the best thing that heals my heart.
I hope you like my photos of the beautiful park that was enlightened by the golden rays of the afternoon sun, making the whole ground and tree branches take a golden color. It was an amazing experience to experience such a large and beautiful park in the winter in Miyun district, to discover different diversions of beauty, and to enjoy my Beijing life! If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.
Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch up with you at the next one.

Dear Hassan!
I unlike cold winters, do you like cold winters?
I wonder why Hassan, who was born in a tropical climate, enjoys China's harsh and cold winters!😃
In temperate climates, winter is a cruel season for the poor.
In winter, all plants sleep like death!
