Hello dear diary and everyone who should read my diary blog. Today, somewhat belatedly, I finally found the time to report on my "day trip" on August 21, 2024.

Since I am now an island dweller due to time constraints, as I am currently living on Koh Phangan, I have to go to the mainland, Krabi to be precise, every 3 months to extend my visa regarding the language school (yes, I am trying to learn Thai, but private teachers would certainly be better for it...). Whew, what a weird nesting sentence. Lol. Well, I think it was kind of understandable.

Back to the topic, but since I don't want to leave my cats alone for too long and also don't want to be on the road forever, I tested on August 21 whether it would be possible to do this in one day. After everyone I knew shook their heads in the negative and only a few admitted that it was theoretically possible, I was very excited about this little adventure myself.

Inwardly, I prayed that everything would work out, but in order for something mental to become real, they say you have to let go of your desire and expect things to turn out differently.

So I even took the precaution of packing a change of clothes in case I had to spend the night at Surat Thani harbor.

My day started punctually at 3 am on the 21st with my alarm clock ringing, as I was being picked up at 4 am to catch the first ferry to Surat Thani at 5:30 am.

The crossing was also very pleasant with a beautiful sunrise. I actually only took 99% of the ferries. I sincerely hope you enjoy these.

We were even a little early, so our ferry had to wait until the other ship had left.

At 8:30 - 8:45 we were off the ferry and picked up. Yes, one of my best friends was there right on time to pick me up.

We went to get coffee and breakfast on the way. You don't need to start the day without a good coffee, right? But we didn't stay there too long, packed everything to take with us and off we went from Surat Thani to Krabi. A drive that takes about 3 hours.

Luckily for us, we made good time and everything went like clockwork. Flawless. It was almost like a simple day trip to the mainland. I had to go to my Thai language school, which issued me the documents for the visa office, then I had to take these documents to another office, which stamped them, and then I could go straight to pick up my 3-month visa stamp. A visa extension currently costs 1900 baht, which is about 51 € at the current exchange rate.

After that I had to go back to Surat Thani to catch the last ferry at 5 pm. They don't run at night.

A one-way ferry trip between Surat Thani and Koh Phangan costs 250 baht, or about €6.70 at the current rate.

If I add up everything I've spent:

1900 Baht Visa
500 Baht ferry rides
3000 baht fuel for the car and a bit for my best friend
2000 Baht coffee, snacks, food for us

That makes a total of 7400 baht, which is about 200 €. Uff, that's quite a bit, isn't it? Well, it was always a nice day and I was very grateful that I was back home at 9 pm in the evening. After being on my feet for 17 hours, it felt damn good to just take a shower and throw myself on the couch. Luckily Sara, another friend, picked me up from the ferry on her scooter and drove me home. I was satisfied, but also extremely exhausted. What was unforgettable was both the sunrise and the sunset, both of which I was able to enjoy that day. It was a fantastic feeling to be on a boat. I'll certainly do it again in 3 months.

First take a seat and wait until the ferry departs. You usually get coffee on board.

But that wasn't the case here, I still had to wait a bit, which is why I took a little tour on board, here are some impressions of the first ferry on this day.

The morning on the boat was wonderful to experience.

The boats only differ in the details. A little in style, if you can put it that way. The basic structure is the same on all of them.

Hm, I really like it on ships, boats and ferries. Somehow it has a calming effect on me, at least when the sea is calm. 💀👽🤣

Maybe it's a bit down to the genes? All the men on my father's side were in the army. Including the navy.

More detail shots, as the morning light was quite good for this. In the evening, I thought to myself, I don't know whether I'll be on the ferry or whether I'll still be in the mood (after a long day).

Up here you can see the toilets. Very clean and tidy so far. Can be used.

Here I am at the back of the ferry. The atmosphere at this point was wonderful. The pictures can't really capture what it was like in real life.

I have no idea what is used here, what is called or what is good, but it was always nice to look at.

The note with Holiday was fun to discover.

By this time I had already had two large iced coffees and had walked around the deck enough, so I decided to take my seat again.

But it wasn't long before we arrived and I went for another walk.

You could already see the harbor of Surat Thani, but we were a little too early, which is why we were allowed to wait here again.

It really was a wonderful day. The morning already looked so magnificent. After another 20 minutes, we were finally able to enter the harbor.

But here we are at last... You can get out in a moment.

There are also clean and cozy cafés at the harbor.

But I went straight on to the exit because I was picked up and was already waiting for me.

We stopped briefly on the way to my language school and the immigration office to get some more coffee and a snack.

I didn't take that many photos on the way. We managed to sort everything out by 2pm and then had a little snack together.

After lunch, we quickly went to the immigration office and then we were on our way back to Surat Thani, to the harbor. We were well on time. It looked like I could still catch the last ferry.

Although... As a millennial, I had a moment of concern here... Damn Hollywood, did a whole generation do a trauma with one movie scene. 🤪💀👽

As I said, I had only taken so many pictures in the morning. I hardly ever think about taking a photoshoot of my route. But I've decided to capture some moments here on Hive exclusively, so here's the quick way back to Koh Phangan.

The sunset came quickly.

There were a lot more people on the ferry in the evening and we were all tired. A pitch-black night embraced us and enveloped us.

Was für ein schöner Tag!

Hallöchen liebes Tagebuch und alle, welche meinen Tagebuch-Blog lesen sollten. Heute, etwas verspätet, fand ich endlich die Zeit, über meinen "Tagesausflug" vom 21. August 2024 zu berichten.

Da ich ja mittlerweile und zeitbedingt ein Inselbewohner bin, da ich auf Koh Phangan gerade wohne, muss ich alle 3 Monate zum Festland, genauer gesagt Krabi, um mein Visa bezüglich der Sprachschule (jaja, ich versuche thailändisch zu lernen, aber private Lehrer oder Lehrerinnen wären sicherlich besser dafür...) zu verlängern. Uff, welch weirder Schachtelsatz. Lol. Naja, ich denke es war irgendwie verständlich.

Zurück zum Thema, da ich allerdings meine Katzen nicht zu lange alleine lassen will und auch nicht ewig unterwegs sein möchte, hatte ich am 21. August getestet, ob es möglich wäre, dieses auch an einem Tag zu schaffen. Nachdem alle mir bekannten Personen den Kopf dazu verneinend schüttelten und nur wenige eine theoretische Möglichkeit einräumten, war ich selbst sehr gespannt auf dieses kleine Abenteuer.

Innerlich betete ich, dass alles klappt, doch damit mentales reales wird, so sagt man, soll man den Wunsch loslassen und auch damit rechnen, dass es anders kommt.

Also packte ich sogar vorsichtshalber Wechselsachen ein, falls ich doch eine Nacht am Hafen Surat Thanis schlafen müsste.

Mein Tag begann pünktlich am 21. um 3 Uhr indem mein Wecker klingelte, denn ich wurde um 4 Uhr abgeholt, um gegen 5:30 Uhr die erste Fähre nach Surat Thani zu bekommen.

Auch die Überfahrt war sehr angenehm zu einem wunderschönen Sonnenaufgang. Ich habe eigentlich 99 % nur von den Fähren gemacht. Ich hoffe inständig, dass diese euch gefallen.

Wir waren sogar etwas zu früh dran, so dass unsere Fähre warten musste, bis das andere Schiff ausgefahren war.

Um 8:30 - 8:45 Uhr waren wir dann von der Fähre runter und auf schon abgeholt. Jaja, ganz pünktlich stand eine meiner besten Freundinnen da und sackte mich ein.

Wir fuhren erstmal Kaffee und Frühstück auf dem weg holen. Ohne einen guten Kaffee brauch der Tag gar nicht erst losgehen, ist doch klar, oder? Aber zu lange hielten wir uns dort nicht auf, alles zum mitnehmen eingepackt und auf geht es von Surat Thani nach Krabi. Eine Autofahrt, welche zirka 3 Stunden dauert.

Zu unserem Glück kamen wir gut durch und alles lief wie am Schnürchen. Einwandfrei. Es war fast wie ein einfacher Tagesausflug ans Festland. Ich musste zu meiner thailändischen Sprachschule, welche mir die Dokumente für die Visa Behörde ausgestellt, danach musste ich diese Dokumente noch kurz woanders hinbringen, eine andere Behörde, welche diese stempelt und anschließend konnte ich direkt meinen Visa Stempel von 3 Monaten abholen fahren. Eine Visaverlängerung kostet momentan 1900 Baht, was ungefähr zum momentanen Kurs etwa 51 € sind.

Danach musste ich schon wieder zurück nach Surat Thani, um die letzte Fähre um 17 Uhr zu bekommen. In der Nacht fahren die nämlich nicht.

Eine einfache Fährenfahrt zwischen Surat Thani und Koh Phangan kostet 250 Baht, in etwa 6,70 € zum jetzigen Kurs.

Wenn ich mal alles so zusammenrechne, was ich ausgegeben habe:

1900 Baht Visa
500 Baht Fährenfahrten
3000 Baht Tank für das Auto und bisl was für meine Freundin
2000 Baht Kaffee, Snacks, Essen für uns

Macht insgesamt: 7400 Baht was umgerechnet aurgerundet ca. 200 € sind. Uff, doch schon ein bisschen was oder? Naja, ein schöner Tag war es allemal und ich bin sehr dankbar gewesen, dass ich Abends um 21 Uhr wieder daheim war. Nachdem ich 17 Stunden auf den Beinen war, tat es verdammt gut einfach zu duschen und sich auf die Couch zu schmeißen. Zum Glück hatte mich Sara, eine andere Bekannte, noch von der Fähre mit dem Roller abgeholt und nach Hause gefahren. Ich war zufrieden, aber auch extrem platt. Was unvergessen war, waren sowohl der Sonnenaufgang, als auch der Sonnenuntergang, welche ich qn diesem Tag beide genießen durfte. Fantastisches Gefühl dabei auf einem Schiff zu sein. Mache ich sicher in 3 Monaten wieder so.

Ich hoffe euchh gefiel der kleine Tagebuch Eintrag und die Infos zur Fähre und zum Visaverlängern.

Noch voll verpennt mal ein misslungenes Bild vom Eingang der Fähre. Jaja, ohne Kaffee geht es nicht.

Erstmal Platz nehmen und warten bis es losgeht und die Fähre abfährt. Meistens bekommt mqn dann quch Kaffee an Bord.

Doch das war hier nicht gleich der Fall, ich hatte noch etwas abzuwarten, weshalb ich einen kleinen Rundgang an Bord machte, hier sind einige Eindrücke der 1. Fähre an diesem Tag.

Der Morgen auf dem Boot war wunderschön mitzuerleben.

Die Boote unterscheiden sich nur im Detail. Vom style ein wenig, wenn man es so sagen kann. Die Grundstruktur ist bei allen die gleiche.

Hm, ich mag es auf Schiffen, Booten und Fähren sehr. Irgendwie wirkt es beruhigend auf mich, zumindest bei ruhiger See. 💀👽🤣

Vielleicht liegt es an den Genen auch ein wenig? Alle Herren der väterlichen Seite waren beim Bundesheer. Auch Marine.

Noch mehr Detailaufnahmen, da das morgentliche Licht ganz gut dafür war. Abends, so dachte ich bei mir, weiß ich ja nicht, ob ich auf der Fähre bin oder dann (nach einem langen Tag) noch Bock drauf haben werde.

Hier oben sieht man die Toiletten. Sehr sauber und ordentlich soweit. Kann man benutzen.

Hier bin ich am hinteren Teil der Fähre. Wundervoll war die Atmosphäre zu diesem Zeitpunkt. Die Bilder können es gar nicht so fassen wie es in real war.

Ich habe zwar keine Ahnung was für was hier genutzt wird, genannt wird oder gut ist, aber schön anzusehen war es allemal.

Der Notizzettel mit Holiday war schon lustig zu entdecken.

Nachdem ich nun zu diesem Zeitpunkt schon 2 große Ice Coffee intus hatte und genug an Deck rumlief, beschloß ich erstmal wieder Platz zu nehmen.

Aber es sollte nicht lange dauern, dass wir angekommen waren und ich nochmal einen Rundgang machte.

Man konnte den Hafen von Surat Thani schon sehen, doch waren wir etwas zu früh dran, weshalb wir hier nochmal warten durften.

Es war wirklich ein wunderschöner Tag. Der Morgen sah schon so grandios aus. Nach weiteren 20 Minuten konnten wir dann endlich in den Hafen einfahren.

Doch hier sind wir endlich... Gleich kann man raus.

Am Hafen gibt es auch gleich saubere und gemütliche Cafés.

Doch ich bin gleich weiter zum Ausgang, weil ich abgeholt wurde und schon auf mich gewartet hat.

Wir hielten auf dem Weg zu meiner Sprachschule und dem Immigrationsbüro kurz an, um uns Kaffee Nachschub zu holen und etwas kleines zu essen.

Unterwegs hatte ich dann nicht mehr so viele Fotos gemacht. Wir konnten alles bis 14 Uhr regeln und waren dann noch etwas kleines zusammen snacken.

Nachdem Essen sind wir schnell noch zum Immigrationsbüro und dann waren wir schon wieder auf dem Weg nach Surat Thani, zum Hafen. Wir lagen gut in der Zeit. Es sah so aus, dass ich die letzte Fähre noch bekommen könnte.

Obwohl... Als Millennial hatte ich hier kurz bedenken... Verdammtes Hollywood, hat eine ganze Generation ein Trauma mit einer Filmszene gemacht. 🤪💀👽

Wie gesagt, ich hatte nur morgens so übelst viele Bilder gemacht. An sich denke ich kaum dran, einen Fotoshoot von meinem Weg zu machen. Doch ich habe mir ja vorgenommen manche Momente hier auf Hive exclusiv festzuhalten, daher hier nun noch schnell der Rückweg nach Koh Phangan.

Der Sonnenuntergang kam schnell.

Am Abend waren wesentlich mehr Menschen auf der Fähre, wir alle waren müde. Eine pechschwarze Nacht umarmte uns und hüllte uns ein.
