Thoughtlessly the thought starts

On this beautiful day, I finally found the time to tell you about my little 7.6 kilometer hike. Yes, I only wanted to go for a short walk....just a little further... In the end, I walked from Thong Sala harbor up to Zen Beach, enjoyed the sunset there and then took a cab tuk tuk back to Thong Sala.

But why did I come up with this crazy idea of walking again?

Well, if I don't know an area yet, I like to discover it on foot if I can. It's like a game to me. Like a video game where you unlock new paths on a map. Only in real life. What's more, you often overlook small and pretty locations as you drive past. I wanted to avoid that and soak up my surroundings like a sponge.

So I set off spontaneously at around 10 a.m. on July 14, 2024. I hadn't set myself an exact destination at first, I just wanted to see how far I could get. But when I was just a stone's throw away from Zen Beach, I decided to go through with it and walk there as my final destination.

I stayed there for a while until the last ray of light had disappeared behind the horizon and then set off home in a tuk tuk. But take a look for yourself, I documented my route as best I could and captured some impressions. Let's go on the tour.

I set off from about here. Before that I went for a coffee at Indigo, but this one is right here at the market.

The so-called "Pantip Market" is located in the middle of Thong Sala, near the harbor. There wasn't much going on there that day. Officially, the market is open from 6 a.m. to midnight, but the times usually vary slightly.

I walked through the market, which was still empty and under construction, and strolled through the streets and small alleyways on my way to discovering more and more of the island.

I tried to capture everything I found beautiful on camera. Just like these street impressions.

The gold stores here look something like this.

There are many buildings here that have a colonial style, which I find beautiful to look at.

Here are a few impressions of the traffic on the island. At this point I was already quite a distance away from Thong Sala.

I walked along the main road. The sea was on my left. The beach path wasn't always feasible or accessible, so I decided to follow the road and walk along it.

On this somewhat steeper stretch, which was also slightly winding, there was an interesting-looking complex. I think it was a hotel complex.

Yup, it's a private resort. Hm, who books in like that?
Lost in thought, I strolled on my way.

Directly opposite this private resort is the so-called "Hustle Club", where you are apparently well looked after, judging by the offerings on the wall.

After a short time, this construction project stretched out along my path. Looks like a major project.

At least this place has a wonderful view.

If you have a house on the mountain here, you always have a wonderful view of the sea.

Here are a few impressions of this construction. I don't know if it's well done, as I'm not an expert in this field. But I'm definitely interested in how it will look when it's finished.

The road looks almost inconspicuous, and there are often inconspicuous deviations from it. Some are easier to see, some less so, depending on how well the path is laid out.

Like this path or this staircase that leads to the top. I don't have a plan of where to go, I'll tackle that another day, today I'm sticking to the main path to get an overall view.

As you can see, you collect very different impressions of the surroundings - a beautiful house can stand next to a ruin, mysterious paths that lead off... An area that is worth discovering.

So, here I was. That didn't help me at the time, as I didn't know the places. But according to the GPS, I was walking correctly. Just straight ahead.

After a while, the sea reappeared to my left. As the soles of my feet were already burning from walking, I decided to take a short break at the next opportunity.

Somewhat hidden in the shade were little bamboo houses where you could sit down for a while. These belonged to a Thai restaurant, which was so inconspicuous that I only recognized it when I was walking.

Nevertheless, these 20 minutes of rest were a relief for my feet. But there was more to come.

This time the road led directly along the sea, which is fantastic for walking.

Nevertheless, you should be careful, because there is no pedestrian path, so you walk directly on the street.

The island offers everything in terms of food. You can find a wide range of vegan and vegetarian dishes like in this restaurant everywhere on the island.

The nature here is fabulously beautiful. I walked a little further, but then I needed another short break. This time I stopped for half an hour in a street café to have a quick drink of cold water and get some fresh air in the shade. Because even though it was cloudy that day, it was also a bit humid.

There was no one else here when I was there. Deserted, if you don't include the staff.

I took a seat by a pile of books and bookshelves in the shade with fans and drank my water.

Interesting style. Definitely an eye-catcher.

I take the opportunity to see where I am more accurately.

All right, that's the name of the spot. Well then, let's see how far I get and what else awaits me on my way.

Wow, just wow. Unsuspectingly, this magnificent work of art caught my eye. Hm, let's see if there's more street art like this on this side of the island.

Next, I walked past a yoga and detox center. I thought it looked really nice from the outside, so I went in and asked about the services on offer.

After looking at the timetable, I asked the staff if I could have a look at the center, which I was allowed to do.

This place has a magical touch due to the greenery and plants and looks mysterious and a bit like a labyrinth. It's definitely beautiful here. I'll have to come here again when I get the chance.

But as I wanted to go further, I said thank you and goodbye and moved on.

Here the road briefly became more boring, as there wasn't so much going on for a short stretch.

I also walked past the Xantiva fitness studio. What's so special about the gym? Well, I wouldn't say anything, except that it's well equipped and you can hang out there as well as doing sport, as they offer ice baths etc. It's the gym of social media influencers. Most of the people who want to be seen are chilling there (one reason why I'm not there).

But first, let's see where I am right now. Ah, near the popular cake store. Many alternative and influencers also chill out here. This area is very popular with the social media "stars".

I walked on to Zen Beach, but wanted to take the back entrance, which is separated by a private area. I only found out afterwards.

So I walked down this little path to the beach, went through a metal gate and was finally there.

The sunlight danced on the surface of the water, making it sparkle and glisten.

You can see it better here, I came from that direction. At this point I cross a private estate to get to the "naked beach". I only realized that I had landed in the nudist area thanks to the naked people. Logically, I didn't take any photos. 😅

Cross over here and you are on the other side of the beach.

I walked on until people were a bit more clothed again, so I went to the normal section of the beach, where I looked for a comfortable spot and stayed for a while.

The beach path goes even further, you can walk right up to the rocks and relax there too.

Which I did after being approached by too many men. I have nothing against being approached, but it seems to me that the gentlemen here are only interested in one thing and that's not my level. Unfortunately, many men only chill out here to see naked women. A beach to pick up women, I think that's what the men here use it for.

When it all got a bit too much for me and I wanted my peace and quiet again, I decided to make my way back home.

The last thing I managed to photograph was this funny and cute cat graffiti before my battery ran out and my phone died.

Well, I finally took the tuk tuk cab home at 7pm. Nobody should walk this route in the dark. That's something for the daytime. You should always bear in mind that there are poisonous animals here. You rarely see them, but I have also seen a few snakes, spiders and millipedes, which can cause problems for people. Always find out for yourself before you travel what you can find locally. 😎

Gedankenlos geht der Gedanke los

An diesem schönen Tag habe ich endlich die Zeit gefunden und nehmen können, um von meiner kleinen ca. 7,6 Kilometer Wanderung zu erzählen. Jaja, ich wollte ja nur einen kleinen Spaziergang machen....nur noch ein Stückchen weiter... Am Ende bin ich vom Hafen Thong Sala hoch gelaufen zum Zen Beach, habe dort den Sonnenuntergang genossen und bin anschließend und final mit dem Taxi Tuk Tuk wieder nach Thong Sala gefahren.

Aber wieso nur kam ich schon wieder auf diese Schnapsidee zu laufen?

Nun ja, wenn ich eine Gegend noch nicht kenne, dann entdecke ich diese gern zu Fuß, wenn machbar. Es ist für mich wie ein Spiel. Wie ein Videogame, indem man neue Wege auf einer Map freischaltet. Nur halt im wahren Leben. Außerdem übersieht man oft beim schnellen Vorbeifahren kleine und hübsche Locations. Das wollte ich vermeiden und meine Umgebung wie ein Schwamm aufsaugen.

Also machte ich mich am 14.Juli 2024 gegen 10 Uhr auf den spontanen Weg. Ich hatte mir kein genaues Ziel zunächst gesetzt, wollte schlichtweg sehen wie weit ich überhaupt komme. Doch als ich dann nur noch einen Katzensprung weg war vom Zen Beach beschloß ich durchzuziehen und dorthin zu laufen als finaler Endpunkt.

Dort verweilte ich einige Zeit, bis der letzte Lichtstrahl hinter dem Horizont verschwunden war und machte mich dann mit einem Tuk Tuk auf den Heimweg. Doch schaut selbst, ich habe meine Strecke so gut es ging dokumentiert und einige Eindrücke festgehalten. Auf geht die Tour.

Ich lief von hier in etwa los. Vorher war ich nochmal im Indigo einen Kaffee trinken, doch dieses ist gleich hier am Markt.

Der sogenannte "Pantip Market" liegt mitten in Thong Sala, in Hafennähe. An diesem Tag war dort nicht so viel los. Offiziell heißt es zwar, das der Markt von 6 Uhr bis Mitternacht offen hat, doch meist variieren die Zeiten etwas.

Ich lief über den noch leeren und sich im Aufbau befindeten Markt und schlenderte durch die Straßen und kleinen Gassen, auf meinem Wege die Insel mehr und mehr zu entdecken.

Alles was ich schön anzusehen fand, versuchte ich auf Kamera festzuhalten. So wie diese Straßen Impressionen.

So in etwa sehen die Goldläden hier aus.

Und so in etwa die Apotheken.

Es gibt hier viele Gebäude, welche einen Kolonialstil haben, welchen ich schön anzusehen finde.

Hier mal ein paar Eindrücke vom Verkehr auf der Insel. An diesem Punkt war ich achon ein ganzes Stückchen weg von Thong Sala.

Ich lief die Hauptstraße entlang. Das Meer war zu meiner linken. Der Strandweg war nicht immer machbar oder zugänglich, daher beschloß ich mich an der Straße zu orientieren und dort langzugehen.

An dieser doch etwas steileren Strecke, welche auch noch leicht kurvig war, stand eine interessant aussehende Anlage. Ich glaube eine Hotelanlage.

Jup, es ist ein privates Resort. Hm, wer sich da so einbucht?
In Gedanken versunken schlenderte ich weiter meines Weges.

Gleich gegenüber von diesem privaten Resort liegt der sogenannte "Hustle Club", wo man auch scheinbar rundum versorgt ist, wenn man das Angebot auf der Mauer so liest.

Nach kurzer Zeit erstreckte sich dann dieses Bauprojekt entlang meines Weges. Sieht nach einem Großprojekt aus.

Zumindest hat dieser Ort eine wunderschöne Aussicht.

Wenn man ein Haus auf dem Berg hier hat, hat man auch immer einen Blick wundervollen Blick auf das Meer.

Hier mal ein paar Eindrücke von diesem Bau. Ob dieser gut gemacht ist weiß ich nicht, da ich nicht vom Fach bin, was das angeht. Doch wie es fertig aussehen wird, interessiert mich allemal.

Die Straße sieht fast unscheinbar aus, oft führen unscheinbare Abweichungen von dieser ab. Manche sieht man besser, manche schlechter, je nachdem wie gut ausgearbeitet der Weg ist.

Wie dieser Weg bzw. diese Treppe, welche nach oben führt. Ich habe keinen Plan wohin man kommt, dass werde ich mal an einem anderen Tag angehen, heute halte ich mich an den Hauptweg, um einen Gesamtüberblick zu bekommen.

Wie man sehen kann, sammelt man ganz unterschiedliche Eindrücke von der Umgebung ein schönes Haus kann neben einer Ruine stehen, geheimnisvolle Wege, welche abgehen... Eine Gegend welche sich Lohnt, entdeckt zu werden.

So, hier war ich nun. Das half mir in diesem Moment aich nicht weiter, da ich die Orte nicht kannte. Doch laut GPS lief ich richtig. Einfach immer geradeaus.

Zu meiner linken tauchte das Meer nach einiger Zeit wieder auf. Da mir meine Fußsohlen schon vom laufen brannten, beschloß ich bei der nächsten Möglichkeit eine kurze Pause zu machen.

Etwas versteckt im Schatten befanden sich Bambus Häuschen, in die man sich kurz setzen konnte. Diese gehörten zu einem thailändischen Lokal, welches so unscheinbar war, dass ich es erst beim Gehen erkannte.

Nichtsdestotrotz waren diese 20 Minuten der Ruhe eine Wohltat für meine Füße. Doch es sollte noch weitergehen.

Die Straße führte diesesmal direkt am Meer entlang, was fantastisch ist zum spazieren gehen.

Trotzallem sollte man Acht geben, denn es gibt keinen Fußgängerweg, so dass man direkt auf der Straße läuft.

Die Insel bietet Nahrungstechnisch alles. Ein großes Angebot an veganen und vegetarischen Speisen wie in diesem Restaurant findet man überall auf der Insel.

Die Natur ist sagenhaft schön hier. Ich lief noch ein kleines Stückchen weiter, doch dann brauchte ich wieder kurze Rast. Diesmal verweilte ich für eine halbe Stunde in einem Straßencafé, um kurz ein kaltes Wasser zu trinken und im Schatten etwas frischen Wind abzubekommen. Denn auch wenn es an diesem Tag bewölkt war, es war auch etwas schwül.

Als ich da war, war kein anderer hier. Menschenleer, wenn man das Personal nicht miteinbezieht.

Ich nahm an einem Bücherstapel und Bücherregal im Schatten bei Ventilatoren Platz und trank mein Wasser.

Interessanter Stil. Ein Hingucker allemal.

Ich nutze die Gelegenheit um zu sehen wo ich überhaupt genauer bin.

Alles klar, so heißt der Spot. Nun dann, mal schauen wie weit ich noch komme und was mich noch erwartet auf meinem Wege.

Wow, einfach nur Wow. Nichtsahnend stach mir dieses grandiose Kunstwerk ins Auge. Hm, mal schauen ob es auf dieser Seite der Insel mehr solcher Straßenkunst gibt.

Als nächstes lief ich an einem Yoga und Detoxing Zentrum vorbei. Ich fand es von außen sehr schön, weshalb ich rein ging und mich nach dem Angebot erkundigte.

Nachdem ich mir den Stundenplan angeschaut hatte, fragte ich das Personal, ob ich mir mal das Zentrum anschauen darf, was mir auch gestattet wurde.

Dieser Ort hat durch die Begrünung und Bepflanzung einen magischen Hauch und wirkt geheimnisvoll und ein wenig wie ein Labyrinth. Schön ist es hier auf jeden Fall. Ich muss mal bei Gelegenheit wieder hier her kommen.

Doch da ich weiter gehen wollte, bedankte und verabschiedete ich mich und zog weiter.

Und auchh hier sah man wieder eine schöne feminine Darstellung.

Und auch das letzte habe ich an einem Restaurant gesehen. Die Darstellung des weiblichen Wesens wurde hier bevorzugt. 🤪

Hier wurde die Straße kurz langweiliger, da für einen kleinen Abschnitt nicht soviel los war.

Am Xantiva Fitnessstudio bin ich auch noch vorbeigegangen. Was so besonders an dem Fitness ist? Naja, an sich würde ich sagen Nichts, außer das es gut ausgestattet ist, man neben dem Sport auch noch dort abhängen kann, da diese Eisbäder etc. anbieten. Es ist das Fitnessstudio der Social Media Influencer. Die meisten, die gesehen werden wollen, chillen da (ein Grund warum ich nicht da bin).

Doch erstmal schauen wo ich mich gerade befinde. Ah, Nähe des beliebten Cake Shops. Hier chillen auch viele Alternative und Influencer. Diese Gegend ist sehr beliebt bei den Social Media "Sternchen".

Ich lief weiter zum Zen Beach, doch wollte den hinteren Eingang nehmen, welcher durch ein Privatgelände abgetrennt ist. Das wusste ich erst danach.

Ich lief also diesen kleinen Weg runter zum Strand, ging durch ein Metalltor und war endlich da.

Das Sonnenlicht tanzte auf der Wasseroberfläche und brachte diese zum funkeln und glitzern.

Hier kann man es besser sehen, ich kam von dorthinten. An diesem Punkt überquere ich ein Privatanwesen, um zum "naked beach" zu gelangen. Ichh habe erst dank den Nackten gemerkt, dass ich am FKK Bereich gelandet bin. Logisch das ich das nicht fotografiere. 😅

Ich lief, bis die Leute wieder etwas mehr bekleidet waren weiter, also zum normalen Strandabschnitt, wo ich einen gemütlichen Platz suchte und noch einige Zeit blieb.

Der Strandweg geht noch weiter, man kann bis zu den Felsen laufen und auch dort entspannen.

Was ich auch tat, nachdem ich von zu vielen Männern angesprochen wurde. Ich habe nichts dagegen, wenn man mich anspricht, aber hier geht es den Herren nur um das eine, wie es mir scheint und das ist nicht mein Niveau. Leider chillen auch viele Männer hier nur, um nackte Frauen sehen zu können. Ein Strand um Frauen aufzureißen, ich glaube dafür nutzen die Männer es hier.

Als es mir dann doch etwas zu viel wurde und ich meine Ruhe doch wieder haben wollte, beschloss ich mich wieder auf den Heimweg zu machen.

Als letztes konnte ich noch dieses lustige und süße Katzen-Graffiti fotografieren, bevor mein Akku leer war und mein Handy abkackte.

Naja, final bin ich um 19 Uhr mit dem Tuk Tuk Taxi nach Hause gefahren. Die Strecke bei Dunkelheit sollte keiner laufen. Das ist wenn was für den Tag. Man sollte immer im Hinterkopf haben, dass es quuch giftige Tiere hier gibt. Sieht man selten, aber auch ich habe achon einige Schlangen, Spinnen und Tausendfüßler gesehen, welche dem Menschen Schwierigkeiten bereiten können. Informiert euch immer selbst vor der Reise, was es vor Ort alles gibt. 😎
