The beach is my happy place! Not sure why but every time the soothing sounds of seawaves penetrate my ears, a calming sensation takes over my entire physicality. Add to that condition the visual extravaganza of the surrounding natural and built spaces, then you've engineered the perfect formula for an immersive experience. Are you with me?
Science is most probably to blame, confirming that human beings are in fact innately connected to their immediate environment. No wonder coastal habitats are also one of their favorite places to hangout.
You absolutely don't need to break the bank to indulge in a luxurious beach resort. There are plenty of alternative seaside establishments that offer a similar experience (or even much better) at a huge fraction of the cost. And I'm truly blessed to be residing on an exotic island that celebrates the best of both worlds.
We might support opposing opinions and personal tastes about what defines an ideal beach resort. And as much as I sincerely respect your preferences, this tropical paradise recommended to me by a dear friend didn't fail to impress and was definitely worth checking out.
Despite being constructed on a small plot of coastal land, this boutique seaside accomodation was an architectural marvel to behold! With its fairly miniscule footprint, the property owners succeeded in incorporating creative solutions that awakened the curious adventurer in me.
Here's my authentic review:
Conveniently situated alongside the main highway, this humble beach resort’s location wasn't obvious right away. Its business signage was also partially hidden from view, hence if you were driving too fast or were commuting on a speeding bus, you'll surely miss this landmark.
Fortunately, digital technology was helpful. And with the guidance of GPS (Global Positioning System) networks, pinpointing this destination was easy.
The in-house restaurant (a sort of al fresco dining) was their welcoming space, luring avid foodies to feast on their culinary delights. It was certainly the perfect spot for hungry travelers like me who have just arrived from their exhaustive trips to rest and eat. I ordered a refreshing fruit shake before proceeding to my chosen guestroom.
Yet, that activity was simply the tip of the iceberg!
Upon walking further inside the abyss of their tropical accommodation, I was then greeted by an interesting garden decorated with vernacular architecture. And while there were a few guestrooms hidden behind their restaurant and check-in lobby, this adjacent green space also included sleeping chambers in the form of special treehouses and cottages. They even had outdoor terraces attached to them! This astonishing revelation made my feet even more restless as they were itching to explore more of the resort’s remaining features.
Moreover, a makeshift pergola (gazebo) was also cleverly installed where guests can unwind while playing board games, socializing, or simply letting laziness take over.
So, here comes the most fascinating feature of this coastal environment. Initially, I had the impression that this resort complex was built on a flat piece of real estate where one can directly view the breathtaking beach and its accompanying shoreline. But I wasn't expecting what was encountered next.
It turned out that this seaside property was nestled on a high cliff! And this archway crafted out of wooden branches, twigs, leaves was the boundary line that indicated that the terrain was sloping downhill, descending to the beach below. To me, this interesting scenario spelled fun and adventure. And I couldn't wait to proceed further.
The journey downwards was obviously steep not to mention quite risky yet with the provision of wide reinforced concrete steps carved into the rocky hillside together with improvised handrails, my descent was fairly safe. Thank goodness!
Along the way, I stumbled upon camera-friendly landmarks created out of the site’s organic materials, inviting more opportunities to capture picturesque souvenirs during my stay. They were also the perfect spots to rest a bit in case the descent was becoming exhaustive.
With additional descending steps plus “Instagrammable” locations to relax while snapping more photographic memories, the adventurous trip downhill was almost over.
Until finally - Wow! The clear aquamarine blue waters of the sea immediately magnetized my eyes. But wait, there were actually more spectacular wonders at the beachside - a few more steps down to go!
Despite not having a natural shoreline, the resort’s architecture smartly utilized the existing geographical terrain, sculpting into the challenging rocky formations with an ingenious bridge, cottage, and tailored landscape. It must have involved lots of laborious work, patience, and manpower to construct this incredibly marvelous haven by the beach!
Now, look at that - more scenic places to pose for pictures! Not only will you be occupied in admiring its breathtaking atmosphere, but you'll also be thrilled by staring at the refreshingly inviting waters as if they were calling you to plunge into its cool depths. Isn't that amazing?
And you know what? That was exactly what I did! Swimming was the concluding agenda of the day. In fact, on top of everything I've just experienced in this beach resort, nothing beats the therapeutic bathing benefits gained as a result of spoiling myself with nature's aquatic embrace.
Mission accomplished!
