Here is an overview of the backpacking trip I went on with my family in July 2021 to the Wind River Range in Wyoming.
Day 1
On the first day we met at my brother's house in Rigby, Idaho. We packed up ourselves and the llamas. My memory of that morning was my sister in law waking me up and asking if I felt ok to go. I get migraines that last 3 days if I do not get medication right away. I was on the third day of the migraine and I knew that when I got through this day I would be fine. I made it to our first camp which was about 6 miles in. I didn't take many pictures as I was pushing myself to get through the hike.
Here we are at the start of the hike at the Scab Creek Trailhead. There were 10 people and 5 llamas in our group.
Day 2
I woke up headache free and excited to experience and take pictures of this beautiful country.
We were a little sad to leave our awesome campsite that sat up about this beautiful lake.
We hiked the rest of the way to our second campsite close to Dream Lake. This area made a great place to camp and do day hikes.
Day 3
We woke up to this awesome sunrise on Day 3.
Later that morning
Me with my siblings
I went a a couple of hikes.
Crescent Lake with Scotty
Dream Lake with Cat
Verl cooked us some fish he caught.
A map of the area
Day 4
This was my favorite day. Jodi, Scotty, Kristen, Cat and I went on a hike to many lakes. I have great siblings and it was great spending time with them.
We did some fishing too.
We played some cards, had dinner, washed at the creak and enjoyed a rainbow that evening.
Jodi brought the best food. I love the enchiladas, with sour cream, salsa and avacado...all freeze dried. Yummy!
Day 5
Scotty and I got up early and went to take pictures
We packed up camp and hiked half way to the beautiful place we camped on the way in.
I twisted my ankle and again had to push myself to make it to the camp.
Day 6
I was so hurt and the hike so long and hard that I took a total of 5 pictures this day, here are three- My ankle, with Kristen, and strawberry shortcake at Verl's in Idaho.
Pack Llamas
One of the fun parts of the trip was having 5 of Verl's pack llamas with us and getting to know their unique personalities
This is Aspen, was the matriarch of the group. She was the steading influence.
Pasha is Aspen's baby. It was Pashas first time on the trail.

Oreo giving Scotty a kiss. Oreo was the friendliest of all.
What an adventure. So glad I could journal it for myself and share it with you here on Hive. Wyoming is one of my favorite places with it's rugged mountain and stunning landscape.

It's hard to pick a favorite picture from this post since they are all beautiful. Looks like you two landed on another planet. Wow, the landscapes are breathtaking, and I love the llamas so much. :)
Thanks so much. It was such a great place. The llamas were cute, especially the friendly ones!
Great trip Sara. Actually, through your posts, I know about llamas and I love them so much.
That is so fun I introduced you to llamas. That was the first time I had really been around them. They are cute!
I think we don't have them in Vietnam. This is the first time I know about them. Thank you for sharing. And yeah they look so cute.
Looks amazing too bad about the ankle injury though.
Thanks so much. It has been three months and it is healing quite well.
What a beautiful scenery, i never imagined there were llamas in the United States haha. Those are really nice pictures, hope your injury heal fast so you can bring more trips like this to show us.
Thank you @question23 I just got back from a trip to Ohio, Connecticut, New York City and DC. So I have lots of great pictures to show, more urban this time, especially New York City!
