Are you dreaming of a holiday destination that offers breathtaking scenery, crystal-clear waters, and authentic Greek culture? Look no further than Lefkada! This stunning island in the Ionian Sea is a hidden gem that offers visitors an opportunity to escape the crowds and experience Greece at its best.

The natural beauty of Lefkada is simply stunning. The west coast boasts dramatic cliffs and turquoise waters, making it a perfect spot for unforgettable sunsets. And let's not forget the island's incredible beaches! Porto Katsiki, Egremni, and Kathisma are just a few of the most beautiful beaches that will take your breath away. But Lefkada isn't just about the beaches – the island's mountainous interior is also worth exploring. Take a hike in the lush greenery, and discover charming villages and stunning landscapes.

When it comes to accommodation, Lefkada has something for everyone. If you're looking for a beach holiday, consider staying in one of the beach villages like Vasiliki, Nydri, or Sivota. These villages offer a wide range of options from luxury hotels to budget-friendly guesthouses. Plus, they're great bases for exploring the island and experiencing local culture.

Speaking of local culture, the main town of Lefkada is a charming place to explore. Wander through the narrow streets, and admire the historic buildings and waterfront area. Stop at a local taverna to taste delicious Greek cuisine or grab a coffee at one of the many cafes.

If you're looking for some adventure, Lefkada won't disappoint. The island is a perfect destination for outdoor activities like hiking, sailing, and windsurfing. And if you're lucky, you might spot dolphins in the waters around the island on a boat tour.

But what about the nightlife? Don't worry, Lefkada has got you covered. Nydri, in particular, is a beach resort that offers a lively nightlife scene. You'll find bars, clubs, and live music that will keep you entertained until the early hours of the morning. I'm not passionate about nightlife, so no photos to share here.

So, when is the best time to visit Lefkada? The island is at its best between June and September when the weather is warm, and the sea is perfect for swimming. Also during this period, the island is less crowded, and everything is cheaper than in August.
There are many options for accommodation in Lefkada, from luxury hotels to budget-friendly guesthouses. If you're looking for a beach holiday, consider staying in one of the beach villages such as Vasiliki, Nydri, or Sivota. These villages have plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafes, and they're great bases for exploring the island. In June I stayed in Vasiliki and a two-room apartment cost me around 30$ per night.
