Hello dearest friends,
This post is a continuation of yesterday's exploration, as I mentioned before. I always try to combine visits to multiple places so that in a single day, you can discover more.
Today, I want to share my experience of discovering Corsanico, a picturesque village I already knew. It’s located in the municipality of Massarosa, in the province of Lucca. The village is perched on the hills above Lake Massaciuccoli, a well-known tourist spot in Tuscany. From this vantage point, you can enjoy breathtaking views, not just of the lake, but also of the beautiful Apuan Alps and even the Tyrrhenian coast.
It wasn’t my first time visiting this place, but as soon as I arrived, I went to visit the church. Fortunately, it was open this time. It’s a rather simple church, but it features lovely frescoes on the ceiling, even though some parts are a bit worn. Still, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Inside the church, there was also a charming nativity scene. It wasn’t very large, but it was lovely to see nonetheless.
After leaving the church, I wandered through the village streets and admired some beautifully crafted stone houses. Architecturally speaking, they’re truly stunning.
I also paused for a moment to observe the monument dedicated to the fallen. As I’ve mentioned in other posts, it’s very common to find these types of monuments in remembrance of the many victims, especially in this part of Italy during World War II. Often, there are also monuments honoring those who fought in World War I, as many people from this area were sent off to war.
There are several panoramic viewpoints in this village, though it’s a shame the weather wasn’t the best when I was there. Still, this is a perfect spot for capturing beautiful photos.
Like many other villages in this area, Corsanico comes alive in the summer. As I mentioned before, there are many holiday homes here, mainly used during the summer months. During this time, beautiful festivals and concerts are organized.
As with the previous village I talked about, this is another great place to relax and connect with nature. There are countless trails for trekking and fantastic routes for cycling.
I hope the photos I’ve shared were interesting. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and I’ll see you in my next one. See you soon! Have a wonderful day, everyone!
