Today we filled our holiday with historical tourism by visiting the Tomb of Tgk. Chik di Tiro.
Mr. Chik di Tiro Muhammad Saman (Tiro, Pidie, 1 January 1836 – Aneuk Galong, Aceh Besar, 31 January 1891) was a national hero from Pidie. He was a figure who revived the Aceh War in 1881 after the decline in attacking activities against the Dutch. While he was leading the war, the Dutch governor changed four times. The Dutch finally used another strategy by poisoning him. Muhammad Saman finally died in January 1891 at the Aneuk Galong fort.
The journey begins with breakfast. Next, we headed to the toll road in Kajhu. According to Mbah Google Map, the location of the grave is around Lampanah Village, Aceh Besar, close to the toll exit.
And...it turns out oh it turns out...the route you are taking is only suitable if you ride a two-wheeled vehicle🤭 Luckily, and this is the quality of Acehnese people who are really good, they lent us 2 two-wheeled vehicles to use.
Using this vehicle we had to cross a suspension bridge which really tested our skills and adrenaline😃 Thank God, we passed.
And here is the documentation while there. Apart from finding the grave of Tgk Chik di Tiro and his descendants, we also found the grave of a lecturer at UIN Ar-Raniry in the 70s who apparently was also a descendant of this great hero.
Apart from that, we also met women who were very old but still very enthusiastic about telling the history of Aceh using rhymes. Cool. I love her
So, do you think there are any plans to make a pilgrimage here? We have to, if we don't love our own history, who else?
Thank You
