“Because the greatest part of a road trip isn’t arriving at your destination. It’s all the wild stuff that happens along the way.”Emma Chase
Hello Beautiful People!
Last week, I was invited by my friend to be her daughter's godparent. It was her daughter's Baptism so I had to attend an important event in the life of my friend's child.
The event was held in the province of Cebu, Todelo City, which is about 2 hours drive away from the city so Rex and I had to travel for two hours just to reach the place. Woke up early and drove our scooter! We navigated google maps to locate the venue of the Baptism.
After the Baptism, we proceeded to the reception. It was so good to be reunited with my friend after 3 years and saw her with her small family.
Since it was already afternoon, we went to my friend and gave a gift to the baby. After we bid goodbye, we went to our scooter and drove going back home.
On our way home, we stopped at the grocery store and bought our snacks for the long ride. We also ate our favorite Halo-Halo dessert and we were ready to go.
After an hour's ride, we saw this man-made forest and decided to stop over. We took some photos of the place and ate the snacks that we bought at the grocery store on our way here. It was so nice to be surrounded by these tall trees.
"The tree is more than first a seed, then a stem, then a living trunk, and then dead timber. The tree is a slow, enduring force straining to win the sky.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
I asked Rex to take a picture of me!
While eating, we saw this hungry black dog and gave her some food. There were some lovely couples having their prenuptial photoshoots here too.
There were also some people who stopped and took some photos. We even saw Rex's uncle who happened to be riding a bicycle going up to Mannipis Road. What a coincidence!
On our way to the next stopover, we saw the so-called sleeping dinosaur. The tail and the back part of the mountain really look like a dinosaur sleeping. I was really amazed by the place. A lot of bikers and motorists can be seen at the view deck too. When we looked down, it was very steep and we even saw some houses down near the river.
Exact location: Manipis Viewing Deck, Toledo - Manipis Road, Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines
When the road at the Trancentral highway got closed due to landslides, the route that some of the motorists take is this road. This is quite dangerous to pass especially at night so we have to be extra careful. Don't come here at night for safety.
Overall, we enjoyed our road trip to the province of Cebu. I have come to realize that there is still more to explore in Cebu. I hope that you will follow us for more adventures! Thank you hive community!

You actually combined so much beauty in just one post. Firstly it was the baptism which is a glorious thing to do for us as Christians and the road trip back was also awesome.
I could the atmosphere of the environment in the man made forest and around the sleeping mountain, it is a really beautiful sight. Sharing your snacks with the dog was a great act of kindness, I am happy you did that.
Thank you for the good words. It is so nice to be able to see my friend and attend her daughter's baptism. Moreover, the view going back was so relaxing. Have a great day @george-dee 😊💕
