Hello Beautiful People!
When you hear the name of the place "Cebu City", what comes to your mind? People often think of the busy streets of Colon or crowded areas downtown. However, there are places in Cebu City where you can relax and feel the nature around you.

Masaba River is located in Sitio Kabaasan, Tagbao Cebu City. Aside from the cold water here that can refresh your mind and body, you will also enjoy the view of the place. Definitely, your 1-hour travel from Cebu City center to Tagbao is worth it. Plus, No Entrance Fee!
When I first visited this place my first impression was "Wow". I never thought the river in Cebu City would be as beautiful as this. Though it's different from the turquoise water in the South of Cebu, I can still describe this place as surreal.
From Taptap Cebu City where I am living, we traveled 15 minutes to reach the place. So far this has been my farthest scooter-driving experience in the countryside since I am now practicing driving. It was also my first time visiting this hidden paradise. Good thing that the road here is quite good, only that we just have to be careful in the slope area of the road.
After 15 minutes, my cousins, Rex and I arrived at the place and saw the beautiful bridge. We parked our scooters and walked for 5 minutes to the main spot of the river. Then after walking for some time, we set up our camping tents and ate our snacks. Fortunately, there were no other people so we were happy. The place was so peaceful and the water was calm.
Look at that green-colored water. It looks shallow but is actually deep. My cousin climb the tree and ready to dive. There were some changes here due to the super typhoon that hit Cebu. However, the place is still as beautiful as before.
There are rocks surrounding the swimming spot where we can climb and these are used as jumping sites.
Indeed, the place is a wonderful place to visit. I wasn't able to take more pictures and show you the entire place. Hope you can visit this place and be in awe of its beauty.
Let's follow the path that leads us to our beautiful destination. Work is important but we must not forget to relax and enjoy life once in a while.
HOW TO GET THERE?
Exact Location: Sitio Kabaasan, Tagbao Cebu City.
By v-hire
- Ride a v-hire from Ayala Terminal to Taptap Cebu City. Tell the driver to drop you off at Taptap Cebu City or Gabby's Little Farm. From there ride a motorcycle going to Tagbao Cebu City.
By Car/Motorcycle - From Cebu City hit the road to trancentral Highway until you reach Gabby's Little Farm. Turn right towards Taptap Cebu City. Once you reached the boundary of Taptap and Adlaon, you have to turn left. Ask the locals where the Masaba river is.
REMINDERS
- Check the weather update before coming here.
- Bring food and water since there are no restaurants around the area.
- Don't leave your trash.
- There is no signal in the area.

Nice place for summer but with the monsoon coming in, I doubt if I can survive there hahahaha. Already added this to my "Places to Visit in Cebu". Thanks for sharing, @sabukidblog 😊
