in Worldmappin2 years ago

Pondicherry is a Unition Territory in southeastern Tamil Nadu state in India.

We started our journey from Bangalore at 7 AM with 2 Motorcycles - Royal Enfield Classic 500 and Royal Enfield Standard 500.

It took us around 9 hours to reach Pondicherry as we had to stop for breakfast and few short snack & water break and also the roads were not that great except for the Highways.

On Day 1 we could not do much as we were tired and the weather was hot with a temperature of 34°C. We booked a roop in Auroville where we stayed for rest of the days.

Day 2:
Had breakfast at 9 and travelled to a place called Mahabalipuram which was 95 km from the pace we stayed. Mahabalipuram is a famous tourist site in India. Its famous for Shore Temple, Pancharatha temple, Arjuna's Penance etc.

There are many more places in this region like the Mahabalipuram Beach, Five Rathas, Sea Shell Museum, Krishna's butterball, Krishna Cave Temple, Varaha Cave Temple, Mahishasura Mardini Cave Temple, Ganesh Ratha Temple, Mamallapuram Lighthouse etc.

Was not able to visit all but have vested few below are some random pics form the places as I was not able to capture good ones.

Finally the last day of the trip returning from Pondicherry to Bangalore. We stopped for breakfast at the place called Gingee and some locals told us there is Gingee Fort and we must visit it.

We thought we will have a look from outside as we had to travel back before night but after reaching there we spent almost 3 to 4 hours as it was worth the stope and we would have missed it. There is lot to watch here and it takes almost 3 hours to see everything

That's some amazing scenery during your road, I love how there is a mix of ancient temples and western churches.
