In this post, I will share an experience and exciting moment I had while taking an afternoon walk on the outskirts of Banda Aceh. This place is located in Syiah Kuala District, which is quite close to Banda Aceh city, which is only about 5 km away and it probably only takes about 9 minutes by motorbike.
This is a moment that happened two months ago, precisely when I was on holiday in the city of Banda Aceh, I have forgotten the date but this moment happened in the afternoon, a boring day and traveling around the city center and the outskirts was the right choice.
Under the hot sun we had to stop for a moment because of the red light, I don't know the name of this intersection, but I know that this intersection is quite close to Sultanah Safiatuddin Park (one of the most iconic parks in the city of Banda Aceh) even from some of the photos above we can already see the monument from Sultanah Safiatuddin Park which is right on the side of the road, and after the green light came on I immediately continued this trip
On the side of the road I also managed to find a mosque building with a very unique and modern architecture, but unfortunately I forgot the name of this mosque, actually I wanted to stop by at this mosque but considering the limited time I decided to just continue my trip.
After continuing the journey for about 5 minutes, I finally arrived at the Pen Monument, this is a fairly large and quite magnificent monument located at Simpang Mesra, Banda Aceh city.
Look at the shape and architecture of this monument, doesn't it look quite unique..?
I was wondering why this monument was named the Pen Monument, but when I looked up at the top of the monument, I immediately got the answer.The top of this monument is made exactly like the tip of a pen which symbolizes knowledge. Apart from being beautiful to look at, this monument also has a long history, especially regarding struggle, hard work and education.
From this monument I immediately continued my journey by taking the road that turned left, this road will take me to a bridge that connects the city center of Banda Aceh with the Aceh Besar area.
This bridge is called Krueng Cut, this bridge is a very important route for community activities, I myself do not know how long this bridge is but what is certain is that this is one of the longest and most beautiful bridges in the city of Banda Aceh, not only beautiful during the day,at night it also looks so enchanting because this bridge has been given colorful lights that will illuminate the road and decorate our eyes.
The railings of this bridge are also painted red, which looks very attractive. For pedestrians who are crossing this bridge, they will definitely be able to see the natural scenery under this bridge, namely a large river.
The afternoon atmosphere is so peaceful, and it is the best time to spend time outdoors.
