Coucou! How is everyone doing? This blog might be the sign for you to have your vacation. Welcome back to another series of rainbow filled stories, from rainebow0407. It’s been a while since I last had a grasp on this community. However, I’m not good at missing people, especially in this community. I missed everything about HIVE, and I hope you guys missed me also.
Today’s blog marks the first beginning of my new series. Which I call, ABADVENTURES! I decided to make a title for this one, since my family loves adventure, and I feel like before the year ends, we’re gonna have a lot to embark on. From go-to places, to newly discovered havens around Cebu. I’m so peped up to share the place we went to last week during the long weekend. Get ready to be flabbergasted by the ethereal view of nature.
On November 4, 2023, my uncle came home from Bohol, and decided to bring the family on an adventure. He really is the initiator of our family’s postcard adventures, since he really plans to grant it for real. My grandmother woke up early to cook our breakfast, yet my uncle told her his plan. My grandparents then supported his idea, while us kids, of course, can’t say no. Who says no for a moment of refreshment when you can have the satisfaction after a well-spent time? Our morning unexpectedly went so well, my uncle and auntie went to the market to buy food to grill and snacks to eat while we will be on the road. Without any fuss and other unnecessary activities, the family started to fill the back of the car with casseroles, soft drinks, and respective bags filled with some swimwear and extra clothes.
The place that my uncle suggested. Our family didn’t have enough information about that place, since we were never able to visit that place. The northern parts of Cebu are not just the place my grandparents would often visit during vacations. We used a private vehicle to go to the place. It took us two hours to travel, since there was no traffic going there. Therapeutic was the term. The moment when my grandfather was driving the car, while the Bluetooth speaker was on, and everyone was just talking. It felt as if that moment was enough. Nothing beats a road trip with the a fam!
📍If you guys want to experience a road trip with your family, or maybe alone, without a private vehicle, here are some alternatives:
- The family can rent a van or a private vehicle to go to the desired place.
- One can ride a bus that will travel towards Northern Cebu.
Finally! The legends landed the place! Me and my family arrived at Durano Eco Farm Resort, Carmen Cebu. Everyone started to pull things out from the car with so much enthusiasm. My auntie paid the fee and led the way towards our cottage.

9 yrs old & below- 50 Php(0.89 USD)

Table- 300 Php(5.37 USD)
Before the paradise, you must meet and greet the hardships. This is their entrance. A stairways. My grandparents literally gave their disapproving face, yet they still chose to go down. My older cousin helped them while everyone else was busy gathering the brought things towards our cottage. On our way there, I saw some small houses beside the stairways. Those are the places where the people can sleep, if ever they will decide to have overnight. Our cottage is located at the bottom, so I was delighted to finally have our cottage on sight.
My family did not waste any time, everyone organized the utensils above the table, while my older cousin started the fire for the grill. My uncle and auntie started to make the barbecues. The kids on the contrary, jumped into the water. While us teenagers, took pictures of the place.
Durano Eco Farm is a place filled with eight spring stops. It is ethereal and cozy. Beside the place, there is a bustling border of water, a river, and everyone is prohibited from going there, since it is dangerous. For everyone’s safety, especially for children, they have a border, and also a guard person. They have a clean environment there. Even if there are so many people, it never gets crowded at one spring stop, since there are other places to go. The cool wind and cold spring really eases everything. The soothing comfort of water that embraces your skin, makes your mind think no way.
After walking around the place, I went to our cottage to help with grilling the barbecues. Then, after a while, my grandparents told us to go swimming. We then agreed, well, I can’t just stare at my little cousin enjoying the cold spring. Yey! For a while, I forgot all my academic installations inside my head. My burnout did lose itself when I started to swim into the deeper part of the spring. Water is a healer. Then suddenly the smell of the grilled pork went through my nose. Ugh! It made me hungry, so I called my cousins to go to our cottage for us to eat.
My family savored the grilled foods and, honestly, I had four servings of rice. Wow. Just wow. The pork was so perfect, it was marinated with soft flavors, and the combination of the scenery around me plus the food made it even more mind soothing. After eating, everyone stayed at the cottage since we were full.
Not long after, my grandparents went to the spring and enjoyed the time. I’m more glad that they’re enjoying themselves, since they deserve this kind of serenity. The family took photos and videos, then the clock struck 4 pm. My grandmother told us to go home already, since we still have to travel. Everyone rose out from the cold spring and took the time to rinse themselves with faucet water. The place also has its changing area and comfort area above.
After everyone had finished, we went upstairs with our things. Then a surprise came to us. The Durano Eco Farm has a vast garden. Me and my siblings explored inside while everyone was busy. We took the chance to take instant photos. Tall trees and colorful flowers are around the place. They even have a pathway colored red. The vibrant energy around their garden did cheer me up. Then it was finally time to go.
Durano Eco Farm Resort really gave me a memory chip that’s installed forever inside my head. It did not fill my battery, yet it gave me another battery to store. The experience was a motivation for me to keep going. Thankfully for my family and Durano Eco Farm Resort, I was able to feel so enlighted.
This is your sign to take a deep breath, and have a vacation with your family. Even at the simplest form, maybe just a coffee with them, or a walk and talk will do. Things at work or school may start to get heavy if pondered inside the brain. Sometimes, it's healthy to get loose and just exhale. Savor the feeling of doing nothing, but enjoy. It's no illegal to do nothing and enjoy. It's a way of coping from heavy load work. So, don’t stress out and let loose sometimes. Being happy doesn't make your work much heavier. It even helps you get motivated and dig into a pile of papers after the majestic moment you had.

I have seen a lot of shared posts on this tourist spot over social media. The water is crystal clear in the photos, is it too, in real life? We added this to our bucket list but haven’t been here yet, maybe anytime soon. Happy to see you all enjoying the place. Can’t wait to be here ☺︎♡
