Hola amigos de esta linda comunidad,
Les cuento que el domingo me desperté muy temprano y preparé mi desayuno. Ya tenía un punto de encuentro en Caldas para una caminata hacia un lugar conocido como La Antena. Es una ruta de aproximadamente 8 kilómetros ida y vuelta, perfecta para caminatas cortas, sobre todo porque últimamente he tenido un dolor en la pierna y debo ir con calma.

Salimos desde el parque de La Locería en Caldas.
(Para quienes no conocen: de Medellín a Caldas hay aproximadamente 17–20 kilómetros, dependiendo del punto de salida).

Antes de empezar compré unos bananos para el camino, porque por esas montañas no hay tiendas donde abastecerse. También llevé agua y buena hidratación, indispensable para estas rutas.

Comenzamos a caminar y, como siempre, la subida se siente. Hacía rato no venía por acá, pero este lugar me parece muy chévere, solo que sí… es pura subida. Por eso, si no tenemos la capacidad o vamos empezando, lo ideal es ir a un ritmo más lento. Pero claro que se puede.

Después de un buen tramo llegamos a la antena, disfrutamos un rato del panorama y hasta vimos unas vaquitas pastando. Luego seguimos hacia un sitio más tranquilo donde no pegara tanto el sol, por una trocha larga, inclinada y húmeda, pero en buen estado.

Nos sentamos a descansar, comimos algo y luego emprendimos el regreso porque el sol ya empezaba a apretar.
Estas caminatas son realmente reconfortantes; ayudan al alma y al espíritu. No te dejan quedarte en casa pensando de más. Aunque me dolía la pierna de ida, seguí adelante. No me importó. Lo mejor es salir, disfrutar y darse este tipo de espacios.

De verdad, es un lugar muy chévere para venir, desconectarse y respirar.
De Medellín a Caldas hay un paso, y vale totalmente la pena.

Let me tell you that on Sunday I woke up very early and made myself breakfast. I already had a meeting point in Caldas for a hike to a place known as La Antena. It’s a route of about 8 kilometers round trip, perfect for short hikes, especially because I’ve had some pain in my leg lately and need to take it easy.

We headed out from the La Locería park in Caldas.
(For those who don’t know: from Medellín to Caldas it’s approximately 17–20 kilometers, depending on the starting point.)

Before starting, I bought some bananas for the walk, because in those mountains there are no shops to stock up. I also brought water — staying hydrated is essential for these routes.

We began walking and, as always, you can feel the uphill. I hadn’t been here in a while, but I really like this place… it’s just that, yes, it’s all uphill. So if you’re not used to it or you’re just starting out, the ideal thing is to go at a slower pace. But of course, it’s totally doable.

After a good stretch we reached the antenna, enjoyed the view for a while, and even saw some cows grazing. Then we continued to a quieter spot where the sun wasn’t hitting as strong, along a long, steep, and damp trail, but still in good condition.

We sat down to rest, had something to eat, and then started heading back because the sun was beginning to heat up.
These hikes are truly comforting; they help the soul and the spirit. They keep you from staying home overthinking. Even though my leg hurt on the way up, I kept going. I didn’t mind. The best part is getting out, enjoying yourself, and giving yourself these kinds of moments.

Honestly, it’s a very cool place to visit, disconnect, and breathe.
From Medellín to Caldas it’s just a short trip, and it’s totally worth it.
