Beyond the sky and above!
That's what our plan was..

2.jpeg
Hiking over the top of the peak over the ridge for more than hours and hours long we were at the end of this never ending himalayan trail. As seen in this photograph was a complete blend of greens whites and blue sky with white clouds. As on our left was the frozen winter snow.. Feet and feet deep. On the right side was the lush green summer grass. The blue sky with white clouds make it a magical frame at once.

Here we are! Somewhere above and around 4000m above the sea level, just right between the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar Himalayan mountain ranges.

It was around 11 AM and we were on our expedition in search of the hidden lakes in the Himalayas. The seven hidden lakes in this mountain range and Rani Sui was one of them.

So It was our rani Sui Expedition and were were nearly somewhere closer to our destination but the views and magical mountains peaks could confuse any wonderer on I mysterious place like this.

7.jpeg
Where the mountains were like the sand dunes! Covered with the white sand, the frozen snow. Just a single dark could right above us would bring direct snowfall at the particular place. It was one of the most extraordinary expedition for me and I will be sharing my whole journey and experience with you guys and show you the hidden side of the Himalayas.

5.jpeg
It was the end point of the Saur Kundi Range (The Rani Sui) Ridge. One of the hidden lakes was just right under the Kanrpri Tibbia that could be seen just right in front of us. Kanapri tibba at 5300m above the sea level was our next destination. It seemed that the peak looked like it was right in fornt of us but It would take a lot of effort in order to reach the summit because there were nearly more than three mountains to climb and descend. and A lot of glaciers to cross.

6.jpeg
The view from the top looked something tike this, The clouds just right in front of us! Few of them right above us. It seemed like that there were different skies like this never ending earth! Never ending ocean. This place seemed so raw and pure like it was totally untouched so was it! only very few people knew about this location. The once who knew about the seven hidden lake also do climb this place form the Manali side crossing the side of Knapri Tibba along with Lama Dugh (A capsite for Kanapri Tibba.)

8.jpeg
The Majestic peaks of Sikhar Beh and Makar Beh were seen from this place. Two of the most mighty peaks of Himachal Pradesh separating the cold Himalayan desert and the Lahul and Spiti regin from Kullu Valley.

9.jpeg
Just right after walking straight beyond the ridge at the top one among the seven lakes was seen right in front of us. The Heart Shaped Rani Sui Lake. Still frozen in the summers!

10.jpeg
It seemed like that the lake was quite close but as here in the mountains "The more closer we get to the mountain, the more far away it gets!"
Firstly we had to descend this huge peak which would take more than an hour or so, and secondly it was a huge deep glacier that we were unaware of. Without any support or mountaineering gear It was quite dangerous to cross this glacier as no one knew about the depth of the glacier it was among one of the main source of water for this lake.

11.jpeg

12.jpeg
It took us around 45 minutes from the top to reach closer to the glacier and the glacier was getting steeper and steeper to descend as seen in the picture. It was more than 50 feet tall and it nearly the edge of the ridge, the lee ward side.

13.jpeg
There were few of the portions in the glacier from where we made our way out! But it took a lot of time and effort. We were grateful enough that we were conquering this expedition in an alpine style. Less hiking gear, less stuff to carry. more places to explore. Otherwise it we would have had heavy hefty hiking gear we would have to pitch various several ropes in order to descend the glacier as it was quite steep.

14.jpeg
Especially on the edges! The snow usually melts and makes the frozen glacier melt which would led into an accident! felling directly into the glacier. The snow on the top seems hard but the snow inside in a full speed water flowing river.

15.jpeg
A glimpse of the glacier on the lee ward side of the Rani Sui Ridge.

16.jpeg
In few minutes due to the clouds being so close to us the whole weather changes in a short duration of time.

17.jpeg

The Rani Sui Lake.

18.jpeg
It took us more that 70-80 minutes descending and reaching closer to the Rani Sui Lake. One among the seven hidden lakes between the two Himalayan mountain ranges. The Pir Panjal and the Dhauladhar Mountain ranges. The top of the ridge could be seen right in front on in the picture from which one could tell that how far was it from the top as it seemed like it was quite close enough.

The Mystery of the seven hidden lake between the himalayan ranges.

It is believed and the locals say that there are seven hidden lakes in this region of the Himalayas between the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar Himalayan ranges. The one who gets a chance to see all of the seven lakes in this life is considered as blessed. As it is very rare that all of the people are able to discover all of the seven hidden lakes.

There were various professional expeditions held in the past along with the locals but people failed. They uses high tech GPS devices and traced the lakes but found nothing. A recent incident came into existence that a person who was on this paraglider and was doing a cross county high fly crossing the two of the Himalayan ranges recorded a biggest lake on the top of the mountain and when people went for the expedition they found nothing. Thats the mystery behind the seven hidden lakes.

20.jpeg
We were so grateful to discover this magical Rani Sui Lake which was full of colours and still frozen. The heart Shape of this natural lake has a lot of magical powers and is Holy Lakes as believed by the locals.

21.jpeg

22.jpeg
There were also several wishing stones know as OODIES in local language which the people usually keep an make a wish.

23.jpeg
Even I formed an OODI and marked my presence and made a wish.

24.jpeg
We spent our time for a while closer to the lake The water was freezing cold and even the temperature was around zero degree C and the sunlight was so harsh on skin due to high altitude.

25.jpeg
So thats all for today guys. I hope you liked it.
Thanks for your precious time. 🙏
Love from the Himalayas. ❤️
