Julley Everyone,

Another beautiful day out here in the Himalayas, as we decided to explore the Shigli Village in the most isolated place of northern Himalayas and the most ancient and hidden village of Manali region of Himachal Pradesh.

IMG_5323.jpeg

It was a wonderful moment guys..
A wonderful morning as we decided to explore this wonderful hidden wonderland.

IMG_5331.jpeg
I got to know about this place from one of my friend, my friend he used to have his house. It was in the village and there were these houses which were constructed before 50 to 60 years and over this place. This village of Shigli was among the most isolated places in this entire Manali region.

IMG_5330.jpeg
The journey became something like this as this place was around 12 to 15 km from a village called Baragran and village was too around 7 km from the main NH 03 Kullu Manali Highway.

IMG_5329.jpeg
As we took a right on a bike from Baragran village to Shigli village, which took around more than 40 minutes, and the whole ride was really very beautiful with the most scenic views of the Himalayas and of the views of whole Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar mountain range.

As per whatever the locals told us there used to be an ancient getaway from Kullu Valley to Dharamsala Valley from this particular mountain Range was about crossing the two mountain passes. The first one being Kalihani pass, and the second one being the Thamsar Pass and the whole expectation was around 10 to 12 days, and it was a technical expedition. I would say as compared to the other hikes.

IMG_5328.jpeg
After being here at this place, right in front of us, what we could see was thenarrow road through which we came, and the whole journey looked something like this.

At this moment, we were at an altitude of more than 11,000 feet above the sea level and the temperature at this particular moment was around 5 to 6°C, and it was not that cold, and usually this place is covered under a thick banquet of snow at this particular time of the year.

A magical place guys, as when we reached over here, right in front of us, what ever we could see with the last peaks of Dhauladhar Range, and once we cross these mountain peaks, we could reach the other side of the mountain Range, which was bir billing, and Dharamsala.

IMG_5322.jpeg
After riding my motorcycle for quite a while, right in front of us, we could see the initially village. The Shigli village had few of the houses around 10-15. I would say next to houses and all of them they were in Kath Kuni Architecture constructed up! Which was an ancient himalayan architecture design, The way of construction of houses.

Kath Kuni Houses

IMG_5327.jpeg
The way these houses were constructed, it was really a masterpiece in itself. The houses they were totally toxic free and the construction comprises of various steps, which was that this whole house was constructed from the wood, Deodar slippers, and the rocks and the mud for the whole construction did not even require even a pit of the cement out, and the whole construction was that the people of the house and the artist and the massin who constructed these houses was called Thaui.

IMG_5326.jpeg
When is the Thaui we will construct the roadmap of the house so then followed by the family members, each one of them they contribute something to their house. Whatever they’ll construct, so everyone has to take part into that ceremony and it was really a peace peaceful moment and really a thing of harmony, which kept the villagers in total unity And maintain the harmony in the whole region .

IMG_5318.jpeg

The villagers, their main source of income was farming and the primarily the way that they farm was just to just to fulfil their needs and to earn a bit of money, which would get them the things which are not available at this place to get the comfort of life.

IMG_5317.jpeg

Even being in today’s guys, it was something which was really very different from today’s world. The way all of the people they were peacefully in this particular place and maintain a harmony and it was something that the mankind human mankind truly wants and needs in his life for a while, even I had a thought that I wanted to spend few of my days in this village and live my life as well as I could.

I was not even sure about the construction that the way how these houses are big, but what I have analyse and got to know about from my personal experience. I wanted to share it with you guys that what was the thing that I felt at first when I saw these Kath Kuni architectural houses at this place.

The unique houses

IMG_5316.jpeg
I noticed as being in the Shigli village was that I saw all of the house that this reason they were constructed totally different from each other. Maybe it was something the way of the art I would say that each and every family family on their own, making it unique.

IMG_5315.jpeg
Few of them even had artistic work, which was done at the wood of their houses. That was something which made it unique and the way all of the houses they were constructed. This was totally different from all of them.

IMG_5314.jpeg
The houses they were basically constructed in such a way that at the bottom of the ground floor, it was generally a cow shirt and write the right outside. Was it was a sort of space where they could keep the kettle feed, which was basically dry grass, which would even keep the walls of the house is warm and inside the first floor, it was the room where the people used to live, so it was really very pure house and a house full of happiness and full of love.

IMG_5325.jpeg
Such a technique was something which kept all of the people warm during the harsh climatic conditions and the place in this whole region used to get covered and thick of snow and the snow being more than 10 feet. That was something which kept the whole house warm, the people here could survive easily.

IMG_5324.jpeg
It was really a wonderful moment guys we stayed here at this place for more than two hours and explore as much as we could so it was really a wonderful experience for me personally being at such an isolated place.

So that’s all for today guys. I hope you liked it.
Thanks for your precious time. 🙏
love from the Himalayas. ❤️
