Hello everyone, this that you are reading now will most likely be the last article about my summer holidays this year, which ended in Italy, exactly in Porto Cesareo in Puglia.
From my point of view, it is a beautiful seaside resort in Apulia that I'm sure many of you know, and I stayed there for about a week, and let's just say that the only activity I did was to hang out on the beach and do some swimming.
I did not know the history of this country, I expected a small, let's say fishing village, but instead I found a small town rich in history with a beautiful old town centre, very clean and very well cared for, despite the intense presence of many tourists.
A place recommended for families but also for couples because there are still plenty of places to visit thanks to the many boat excursions, in fact you can visit the many caves that are only visible from the sea and also the rabbit island that is just nearby.
This place, like the whole of Lecce, is famous for a very special dessert called 'pasticciotto' and is made with short pastry with custard inside, but in some versions also with chocolate cream.
These that you see in the photos are the three dishes that I liked the most from this land, the first a classic fried seafood dish, the second some fresh fish that had been caught that day, and finally the typical pasta that is cooked but above all produced by the local ladies which is orecchiette, and this type of pasta I have practically found all over the world.
While this that you see in the photos is the beach that I frequented for about a week, a beach with practically no services, in fact it is completely free and you have to equip yourself with your own deckchair and umbrella, what I practically like.
As you can always see from the photos the sea is very beautiful, in fact Puglia is also called the Maldives of Salento, and the water seemed quite clean to me, although in a nearby area bathing was forbidden because the analyses they had carried out had found a bacterium.
This means that the water is monitored often anyway, which is a good thing.
The only thing I would probably advise against is coming here in August, because there are too many people at certain times of the day and it becomes a bit unlivable.
And then if you have children, I have noticed that there are few games for them and also few attractions that are usually found in other seaside resorts in Italy.
In the end, however, I can say that it was a good week, even if she goes on the end was a bit fed up with the fact that there were not so many alternatives, thank you for reading the article up to this point, see you at the next one.
