Hi friends how are you?
I am not so well these days because I have caught a small fever that now fortunately my mind is passing,So usually when I am at home and in bed I like to look at the photos I take during my excursions,it is today that I found the photos I took this summer when I was in Umbria for two days.
Now in this post I will tell you quite briefly the two main cities I have seen, the first is in Assisi while the other is in Gubbio.
Assisi is practically located in the hills and is famous because the birthplace of St. Francis, practically the patron saint of Italy.
And certainly from a tourist point of view the most important point is the basilica of San Francesco, this imposing church which was consecrated in 1253.
Assisi has always been an important outpost both in Etruscan and Roman times.
Now in this historical era it is very important from a religious point of view. In fact, in addition to this splendid Basilica there are many other churches.
In fact, the beautiful thing that unites both religious tourism and tourism linked to art and to these places where there are real masterpieces inside.
I am only sorry that I had little time to visit the city of Assisi more thoroughly.
Why not visited in even a day and in my opinion it takes almost two days.
Then you should choose a period where there is less influx of tourists because, however, the basilica being a suggestive place linked to spirituality, you cannot enjoy the atmosphere of silence.
The thing that upset me most was the fact that they banned me from taking videos and photos inside the Basilica and I didn't understand why.
Of course I took some of them anyway it was impossible to resist, spectacular and that leave you speechless are Giotto's frescoes.
As in any city I visit especially this one which is very beautiful from a medieval point of view,I took a short walk through the streets observing every point of the city.
After visiting Assisi but I suggest you take a few more days because I had to do everything in a hurry, I moved to Gubbio most likely one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Umbria in general.
As soon as you arrive from a distance and see this city you are impressed by the amphitheater, in fact I did not even know of this existence, in fact, Gubbio is also called the stone city of Umbria, precisely because if you see it from a distance, you see that it is entirely built in stone.
Even here as soon as I arrived at the beginning I remember that I did a nice tour of the city of Gubbio and I was impressed by the numerous restaurants with all the tables ready to wait for tourists.
I think this is one of the most beautiful things in Italy.
the beauty of walking in these places makes you understand that life must be lived slowly.
Then I went to see the famous Doge's Palace built by Federico da Montefeltro, we can say the symbol of the city of Gubbio.
then we must remember that for us Tagliani Gubbio is famous for an important TV series that has had a resounding success, in one of the most important Italian TV channels.
This is the TV series where the protagonist was the famous priest who lived in these parts Don Matteo interpreted by the famous actor Terence Hill.
If any of you have seen this TV series remember well that this priest was always drinking coffee with the famous local marshal.
However, from my point of view, the monument that most impressed me here in Gubbio was undoubtedly the Roman amphitheater.
It is not in perfect condition because probably over time a part sold is really something unique in the world.
Thank you for reading my story up to this point, I hope you found it interesting and I hope you can visit these places in the future because they are definitely worth it.
I wish you a beautiful day
I was intrigued by the fact that they did not allow filming, but these are positional issues in each place. I am very struck by the style of the basilica and the shape of its interior, it is very attractive in every way. Besides, the reflection of each place is beautiful and captivating. Much beauty in each of the shots, I hope you can improve soon my best wishes to you very cordially.
On the other hand, the Roman amphitheater is beautiful, a great and captivating place. : )
