Hi friends, I am back from a visit to Forlì, a city of about 120,000 inhabitants located in Emilia Romagna. I went to visit a very dear friend of mine who lives there, and I had the opportunity to take a walk through the main street and the main square, which were decorated in a Christmas theme. It was very pleasant to walk among the illuminations and admire the Christmas decorations. Forlì is really a beautiful city, I hope to go back soon.
My friend told me that it is almost never cold here in Forlì because the climate is very temperate because it is influenced by the nearby Adriatic Sea, which is only a few kilometres from here.
Honestly, I did not expect to find so many people walking around Forlì, especially considering that it is not a particularly big city. Everyone was probably looking for the last Christmas presents. It was very pleasant to see so many people walking around and enjoying the city
My very dear friend suggested I go as far as Cesenatico to see the sea. Although the sea always has its charm, especially in winter, unfortunately the weather was not too inviting for swimming. However, we took the opportunity to take a pleasant walk by the water. It was very relaxing to walk along the shore, although we would have liked to enjoy the sea more actively.
Many of you are probably not familiar with Cesenatico, a town on the Riviera Romagnola with a strong maritime identity, located on the Adriatic Sea. Its canal port, built in the 16th century according to a design by Leonardo da Vinci, was intended to connect the town to Cesena. Over the years, trade and sea-related activities have shaped the ancient village, now also a popular tourist destination. If you are in the vicinity, I recommend a visit to Cesenatico to discover its history and beauty.
During the month of December, the seaside village of Cesenatico is transformed into a magical city. Along the contours of the colourful houses of the Porto Canale, the Pescheria, the roofs of Piazza Ciceruacchio and the Conserve, the illuminations come to life, creating innovative scenic installations that light up the panorama of Cesenatico. The main attractions are the sailboat in Piazza Andrea Costa and the Presepe della Marineria (Maritime Crib), set up on historical boats according to tradition. There will be a chance to see this Christmas spectacle from 4 December at 5 p.m. until Sunday 15 January 2023. Come and visit Cesenatico to enjoy this unique show, you will certainly not regret it.
I found the initiative of the Municipality of Cesenatico to set up a Nativity scene on historical boats in the beautiful canal port of the seaside village very interesting. I think it is a way to attract tourists and visitors during this time of year and make an already characteristic place in Cesenatico even more fascinating. It is definitely an attraction not to be missed for those who are in the area during the Christmas holidays.
I have to confess that I did not take many photos during my visit to Cesenatico, partly because I wanted to take it a bit easier and relax, as I have been very stressed by work lately. However, I think it is only fair to share a few snaps with you, because I like to show off the places I usually visit. Although I didn't have time to take many photos, I hope these can give you an idea of what my trip was like and maybe inspire you to visit these places too.

A very beautiful tower on the main square! The New Year's decorations add an unusual tone to this cityscape.
