Introduction

Hi everyone it's @LivingUKTaiwan here with the weekend edition of the #TravelDigest. Today our Top 3 Pinmapple post goes to three very different places. First we head off to see an ex Soviet expo center in Ukraine, next Kathmandu, the buzzing capital of Nepal, and finally we go to a very unique rock garden in Oregon in America. Enjoy!

All featured posts are visible on the Editors Choice Map and upvoted by @pinmapple and our curation trail and potentially @blocktrades and @theycallmedan. For more travel digests check out #traveldigest.

Our winners today 🍍

🥇 Expocenter of Ukraine - Soviet past and Ukrainian present by @zirochka

" This particular pavilion was about Winemaking, Fruit Growing and Beverages. It was very ironic, because here there was everything that could not be seen in stores, even in the capital. Never. Champagne, cognacs, wines. You could come here and look, but you couldn't buy or taste it. In order not to cause mass dissatisfaction or indignation, ordinary people were told that goods are not enough for everyone, so they had to work harder."

🥈 Exploring Nepal 🇳🇵First day in Kathmandu (#2) by @thefootprint

" Now we were searching for a place to sleep and taxi driving us there. That was a challenging task because there were hundreds of taxi drivers waiting to overcharge European newcomers. We were lucky to find a nice guy offering us a ride and a local place where we could stay for the night. By accident we run into Mim (new Nepali friend from the airplane), which confirmed that this is a good deal."

🥉 Petersen Rock Garden - Redmond Oregon - A Visual Tour (33 photos) by @oldmans

" Right after I took this picture of these fish one of the caretakers came up and was amazed to see them there. I guess a heron had been feasting on them and the caretaker thought they had removed them all from the pond. I guess the little fishes had some hiding places. 🙂 Caretaker went on his way to rescue more fish."
