Travel Digest #1973

Introduction

Hi everyone it's @LivingUKTaiwan here with the Sunday edition of the #TravelDigest. I'm rather gutted today as I was so confident that England could win the World Cup, but sadly the better team won. Congrats to Spain as they played so well. Never mind, there will always be the next time. Now let's see what we have for your today.

Our winners today 🍍

🥇 The Barnenez Cairn, Europe's largest Neolithic Mausoleum, built 7,000 years ago by @anttn

" And these are the very interesting structures on the other side. I have to say that these are perhaps even my favorites over the other side. The two egg-shaped openings with their more organic curves soften the whole in a remarkable way. In fact, these are parts of burial chambers that were devastated by a local building contractor who had truckloads of stone taken away.

The only notable advantage of this is that the cut allows us to see the interior without going inside, but that's the only one, because we've lost the original shape of the structure."

🥈 Almourol castle🌏🚩 / Castillo Almourol🏰🧭 (En-Es) by @biologistbrito

" The castle does not belong to the government or the municipal chamber, it belongs to the Portuguese army and their order is to leave it 100% original, just building a bridge to access the entrance of the castle since the original bridge was vertical and too dangerous, this It is the only alteration of the castle!"

🥉 Let's travel back in time to Caesarea National Park in Israel by @triplug

" From what I have read on the information boards it seems that Caesarea was originally a port that was named after Caesar himself, being a vital point for the economy, having the advantage of opening to the sea.
"
I took a few steps inside on the dusty roads and lo and behold, the Amphitheatre appeared before me, an impressive place that used to host important events
