Now, that I'm not living there anymore, I can show you things more closely, and you can locate yourself better on the map of Spain... 😃 This was another great walk that I took a few days ago when my wife went to work, and I made her company on her 1-hour commute in both directions (1+1)... As days are shorter, I began my walk around 4:30 PM and finished around 8 PM...
The first photo wasn't the beginning of my walk, as I had already had a walk until I got to the beach... That red "cone" that you can see in the photo above is one of the artificial Christmas trees in town... It is made of plastic wires combined with Christmas lights, but as it was still daylight, you will have to imagine how it looks... (hint: it's red 😃)
Before going on this long walk, I did check the weather forecast and they said there will be no rain that afternoon/evening... When I looked at the sky, it didn't look like that... lol... But, as I lived in that area for over a decade, I knew that these clouds would just go in circles and in the end, go away... I have no idea why, but it would usually work like that and we would have very little rain during the year...
This is one of the routes that I liked the most as I would have it all, the beach, the sea, the nature, and covering 2 towns in one walk! This was the last look at the sea as we were going inland...
This is a small passage that connects the beach with the main road, but it is accessible only by foot or bicycle...
After crossing the main road, I'm into my "space"... A narrow road that goes among "casas de campo" (weekend houses) and gardens... If you were checking my previous walks, you have probably seen this yellow flower as I like it a lot... It is bigger than a hand palm, and it looks like it is made of plastic, artificially beautiful... 😃 But, it is real... lol...
As we are in the winter, the sun is already on its way to sleep... A few more sun rays come out from the palm trees...
Before it got dark, I took a few photos of colorful flowers...
After a 1.5-hour walk, I arrived at the old town (it is divided into 2 parts, the beach, and the "old town"), and while I was passing by the church, I saw that the Belen (Nativity scene) set up at the small square, so I made a full circle around it, taking photos from all sides...
"Belen" is huge in Spain, and every city/town has it... Some are in multiple places and it's not rare that you can see them in shop windows, shopping malls, etc. I did see them in other countries, but they usually represent only the small barn where Jesus was born, and not as much as you can see, for example, in these photos...
Btw. I remember when my son was 6-7 years old, they created "Belen viviente", (living Nativity scene), where the children recreated scenes, with living domestic animals, etc. It was a very nice experience for them...
Between the daylight walk and this first photo of the Christmas lights over the road, I did make a small break... I forgot to take a photo as I was too busy "cleaning the evidence"... 😃I went to the pastry shop for a coffee, and my favorite cake, meringue... Sorry, no photos as I forgot to take them... (too hungry) 😂
On my way back, I used my time to take photos of different Christmas lights... Over the church, and in the narrow street of the town...
The small town hall was in the Christmas mood too... It wasn't too spectacular as in some big cities, but it does look cute...
This was the second Christmas tree that day... This time, it was in the middle of the roundabout, accompanied by the holy family...
And for the end, the third Christmas tree in my small (ex)town... 😃 This one is probably the biggest, and it is situated in front of the "Casa de Cultura" (cultural center)...
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!
Thank you for your time,

What a nice walk for few hours until dark. I can't do much more than an hour or else I will turn into an ice cube this time of year, haha.
I appreciate the simplicity of the decorations. Here some go way over board with them. Anyways hope you had a Merry Christmas and may the rest of the Holidays go well 😃

Merry Christmas!
What a beautiful walk and those yellow flowers seriously look huge.
I love the tradition of the Belen. In Colombia I have not seen any as big as the ones you can see in Spain and Venezuela. And your mention of the living nativity scenes brings back many memories of my childhood and my son's.😄
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!🎄🤗
That's a really good walk! Everything looks wonderful and festive!
It looks like a nice walk and it always feel sad to leave somewhere you are used to. You will probably get used to things in your new place and I hope it's a nice enough place for you to walk around.
Now your old town lends itself to sightseeing and photography hahaha, I like that a lot, and wow in December the area looks great. That beach I've already seen it in several posts of my pianist friend, and I hope to visit it someday, I've been looking for kindness rocks here for a while, but no, you can't get them hahaha. A hug for you my great friend! ✌️
That looks like a pleasant place to walk around. I have been doing some long walks myself lately but much earlier as it gets dark so early. Here we have 0 degrees though, how warm is it there now?
The Christmas lights are pretty! Happy holidays!

Nice walk. The greenery and bright colors in nature is one of the things I miss the most during the dully grey winters here in Central Europe. Thanks for taking us on this walk with you through these cool pics :)

I think you should go back to take the picture of that cone shaped tree at night lol. I thought the Christmas tree at the end of the picture was it.
One thing with creators on Hive is that sometimes we mostly just subconsciously take pictures knowing that sharing it on Hive is going to "wow" another person. Great shots you have here.
