An unforgettable camping / trekking experience in Kinnaur.

Hello All!

Hope you are doing great!

Today’s blog is about my trek to the most magnificent campsite I’ve ever been in my life, Ganesh Bagh!

Sat - 24 Aug 2024, 8:43 AM

Started our journey from Shongtong bridge early morning to reach the campsite before evening. It was about 10 km of trek to the campsite.

We needed to climb on the top of that mountain whose photo we are taking in the photo above.

It looked so far away but we had our hopes high and were prepared well for the trek with all the equipments and food items.

Similar to all the treks, the views were getting better with each step and that motivated every one of us.

We were halfway through the trek by afternoon and were ready to reach to the top. Views were getting better with each step and we were also getting tired. In-spite of that we kept motivating each other to walk and don’t stop because once a person stopes for a long time during a hike, he feels really difficult to walk again.

On our way, we found one dog who started following us. We fed him some roties and he became our new friend. We took some photos with him and the view.

It was a clear day with occasional clouds that covered the sun for some relief. A perfect day for trek.

Now the vegetation stared to change and trees slowly stared disappearing. We realised that we’re close to the Non Tropic Zone.

We reached the Non Tropic Zone now as you can see in the photo above. The view of the mountain range behind us was unreal!

We felt like we’re over the clouds. We literally felt like we were on cloud nine so we took out the flag we had with us to capture some photos with it just like professional mountaineers do when they summit a peak.

We were there!!!

What a great site it was. Everything felt so dreamy and unreal. This place had a unique vibe that felt like heaven. It literally felt like we’re above the earth and we’ve stepped into the heaven.

The campsite had all the facilities from good food, warm tents and toilets. We had some food there and took some rest before hopping out to explore more.

Although we were tired, the views took all our tiredness away!!!

Everyone of us was roaming around the campsite in spite of being tired.

At evening time, I took some photos of the sunset and also tried capturing the stars.

What a day it was. It felt like I was in a dream. Everything felt unreal. We had our food around 8 PM and admired the beauty of nature afterwards.

That’s all for today!!!

Thanks for your time.
