Sometimes when I prepare my trips I keep in mind the weather conditions I will encounter and I check the weather forecast beforehand. For those of us who like adventures and slightly more risky trips, preparing before setting off on the route is essential to achieving the objectives we set ourselves. On this adventure, the wind, rain and snow conditions made me take a more thorough check of my vehicle than usual, tire pressure, fluids, oil and tire chains in case I found myself on difficult roads. The goal was to reach the Sierra de Béjar in the south of the province of Salamanca in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, starting from the city of Cáceres. The objectives were to visit the beautiful and picturesque town of "Candelario" and also the surrounding mountains and the ski resort of La Covatilla.
Candelario
Taking the A-66 motorway northwards, I got off at the town of Béjar and then took the N-630a national road that would take me to the town of Candelario. On the way I could see that the conditions were changing and I went from light rain and wind to a light snow blizzard as I climbed towards the mountains. At that time the road was still clear of snow and could be driven on without problems but with great caution. Upon arrival, a large car park at the beginning of the town where I could leave the car gave me the first views of this beautiful town. I wrapped myself up well and put on my gloves but at times I took them off as it made it difficult to take the photos I like, they rightly say that “a cat with gloves does not hunt”. I set off through the beautiful picturesque valleys of this beautiful town in Salamanca.
I won't deny that the thermal sensation was extremely cold, but being in motion and the surprising beauty of this place made it more bearable. The fine snow was beginning to settle and as there were no people on the streets it was immaculate, the only footprints on my path were mine and they were left behind. The old wooden architecture combined with the stone of this place made this small valley of Candelario blend completely with its surroundings, making it an example of sustainability, natural progress and coexistence with nature.
In the southern area of Candelario I left the town to get in touch with the forest in this area. One of the most abundant and most appreciated resources in this place is the forest and the respect and care of the mountains in the region.
At dusk, a blizzard caught me and an extremely strong wind whipped my face. It was an emotional feeling in which I found myself between the harshness and roughness of the weather and the natural beauty of the landscapes before me. On the one hand, I wanted to go somewhere with a nice fire in the fireplace and on the other hand, it was very difficult for me to leave that magical place with the peculiarity of being in the middle of a snowstorm.

It is a real adventure but in cold weather how do you manage to click the camera? Here if I go in the snow or minus degrees My figures and hands are not focus on the target great photographs and place. Greetings. :)
Well, I'll tell you that I took turns. Sometimes when I was going to take the pictures I took off my gloves and endured the cold, then when I finished and continued walking I put them back on to keep warm. I know it's tedious but it's worth it. @hindavi
