Cuenca: A great place to see colonial architecture, people watch, and relax.

in Worldmappin3 years ago (edited)

I used my time in Cuenca mainly to absorb my last says in Ecuador, work on editing videos, and relax. I would recommend the same for you. Embrace the slower pace of life. While modern elements are present — shopping on the main street, a light rail, LTE internet, this is still a traditional and not entirely touristic city. Take it as an opportunity to live like a local! Have lunch on the square, walk around, try local food, and just look around.

Parque Calderón

Within the old streets of Cuenca lies a charming public square — Parque Calderón. Carefully manicured flowers, clear pathways, people walking or sitting about, and vendors offering crafts, ice cream, toys, drinks, and other things make this an ezcellentexcellent place to people watch.
