Hi friends, today we will be traveling to the wonderful city of Chanakkale, as we have a new place we want to visit. It is another museum, but what a great museum! It is a free museum of ceramics, which is located 15 minutes walk from the city center. I found this place on Google maps and was quite disappointed that I couldn't find the price of the tickets. After visiting all possible websites I realized that the museum is completely free, what surprised me. I had already seen what was inside the museum thanks to the pictures on Google maps, and I definitely decided that we should visit this museum as soon as possible. And now we are on the ferry, sailing to the wonderful town of Chanakkale to eat amazing Belgian chocolate and raspberry flavored ice cream and visit the beautiful ceramics museum.
As far as I learned, there used to be a hamam (Turkish sauna) on the spot where the museum is located. The building looks very authentic and historical, which definitely attracted me.
At the entrance on the left side there is a showcase with various small and colorful ceramic pieces. You can't go into the room itself, but you can see everything quite well even from a short distance.
These little orange horses reminded me of my trip to one of the Kharkiv museums. I was a child and I can't tell you the exact name, but I remember for sure that that museum was dedicated to Ukrainian culture and traditional artifacts. And one of those items was a ram made of clay, which is very similar to the horse here in the ceramics museum in Chanakkale.
It was an amazing experience!
And this is what the corridor at the entrance to the museum looks like. There are various paintings hanging on the walls and the interior is decorated with white tall columns. Combined with the dark wood, it looks incredibly attractive!
The shelves of the showcase were filled with beautiful products that you wanted to gaze at. When working with ceramics you have to have a lot of patience and be prepared for the fact that what you have in mind may not work out at all. It is a matter of practice.
Walking a little further, we noticed the corner where these exhibits were located. My eye was immediately drawn to this magnificent yellow jug. If you look closely, you can see a duck in it!
Next we moved on to a cold bright room that was also filled with various things. Here we could already see the painted plates. As far as I am concerned, one should not eat from such plates. It is a work of art, you should decorate your house with it and tell your guests about it.
Looking up I found that there is art on every square centimeter. There are small round windows in the ceiling that perfectly complement the atmosphere of the museum. Also don't forget that once there was a hamam here and just imagine how this ceiling decorated the room, but also served as a source of light, as there are no windows at all (what is reasonable for a hamam).
Next we found small rooms, which I affectionately called "clean corner". These are marble basins where people usually wash themselves. This is one of the most important item in religion.
And this is my most favorite mini room! Just look at this composition and the combination of these beautiful pieces. The beauty of this place just stunned me!
Below I just want to attach the photos that I was able to take at the ceramics museum in Chanakkale. I hope you enjoyed the museum and will leave your comments below this post.
