Just after all that food, my husband and I decided to take a walk around Tobbiana, a delightful Tuscan village where my mother-in-law lives. Unfortunately, due to distance reasons, we don't often go to this village. Tobbiana is a really small town located on top of a mountain, the road to get there is wide but unpleasant, full of twists and turns. It is also difficult to park unfortunately because the place is small and there are few parking spaces. However, luckily we found a parking space quickly. Tobbiana is surrounded by fields, olive trees and for years it was a rural community that lived on vines, agriculture and the trade of honey and cheese. Today it is mostly inhabited by elderly people who choose it for its tranquility and silence. In Tobbiana there aren't many activities, just a pizzeria and a grocery store, to do a big shopping or go to the doctor you have to go down to the valley and especially in winter the road is not always easily passable.

Justo después de tanta comida, mi marido y yo decidimos dar un paseo por Tobbiana, un encantador pueblo toscano donde vive mi suegra. Desafortunadamente, por razones de distancia, no vamos a menudo a este pueblo. Tobbiana es un pueblo realmente pequeño situado en lo alto de una montaña, el camino para llegar es ancho pero desagradable, lleno de curvas y vueltas. Lamentablemente también es difícil aparcar porque el lugar es pequeño y hay pocas plazas de aparcamiento. Sin embargo, afortunadamente encontramos rápidamente un lugar para estacionar. Tobbiana está rodeada de campos, olivos y durante años fue una comunidad rural que vivía de la viña, la agricultura y el comercio de miel y queso. Hoy en día está habitada mayoritariamente por personas mayores que la eligen por su tranquilidad y silencio. En Tobbiana no hay muchas actividades, sólo una pizzería y una tienda de comestibles, para hacer una gran compra o ir al médico hay que bajar al valle y, sobre todo en invierno, la carretera no siempre es fácilmente transitable.

I did it and I regret it, as you can see in the video my husband made of me which I attach at the bottom. For years Tobbiana has been a town famous for politics. There were two warring factions between Catholics and Communists who then united to improve the conditions of the town, creating a road and meeting places. Here in summer there are some small traditional festivals, in winter unfortunately it is empty, there are few people and few parties. Overall it is a pleasant and really quiet place, there are some really pretty houses and streets.

El pueblo se caracteriza por calles pequeñas y calles muy empinadas, es un pueblo que parece girar alrededor de la montaña y por eso hay muchas subidas y bajadas, ¡te desaconsejo venir aquí en tacones! Lo hice y me arrepiento, como podéis ver en el vídeo que me hizo mi marido y que os adjunto abajo. Durante años Tobbiana ha sido una ciudad famosa por la política. Hubo dos facciones en guerra entre católicos y comunistas que luego se unieron para mejorar las condiciones de la ciudad, creando una carretera y lugares de encuentro. Aquí en verano hay algunas pequeñas fiestas tradicionales, en invierno lamentablemente está vacío, hay poca gente y pocas fiestas. En general es un lugar agradable y muy tranquilo, hay algunas casas y calles realmente bonitas.
