Hello everyone, how are you? Are you okay? Today, in Indonesia, Indonesia's independence day is celebrated. There is a commemoration with a ceremony and several competitions. How about me? I enjoy relaxing. Some time ago, I joined a tour in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta
The first place I visited was a park called Suropati Park. I want to tell my visit to this park. This is not the first time visiting this park. I have visited this park several times. This park is my choice for exercise. Looks cool and beautiful. It's not just me, many people are coming here.
I want to tell this garden. This park was built before Indonesia's independence under the name Burgemeester Bisschopplein. The name was taken from the name of the mayor of Jakarta, at that time. In 1912, this place was a field designed by Moojen as a meeting point for main roads. However, in 1918 the garden was changed to make it more effective for smooth traffic.
How was the name of this place changed? From existing history, this park is named Suropati Park. Suropati is one of the national heroes who contributed to expelling invaders. His full name is Untung Suropati. Since ancient times, this park has been used for sports, leisure walks, and more. In fact, during the old order, this place was used as an open meeting by several groups.
Besides this place is known as the ASEAN friendship park. Because there are works of art from ASEAN countries here. In total, there are 6 artworks from 6 ASEAN countries here, namely Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, and Indonesia. All of these works of art are used as monuments in this park. The first is from Thailand, which is called fraternity, which means brotherhood. Meanwhile, from Singapore, it is often called Spirit ASEAN.
Next is from Malaysia which means, peace. Furthermore, from Brunei which is interpreted as Harmony. Finally, in the Philippines, it is called Rebirth, which means reborn. How about from Indonesia? From Indonesia, it is interpreted as Peace. This statue is firmly in the corners of this park
Oh yes, in this park there are also fountains and lots of mahogany trees. This mahogany tree adds to the atmosphere of the garden as it is very beautiful. If it's Sunday, this park is filled with people who want to exercise. There are many facilities in this park. There are chairs, jogging tracks, plants, and more. You can relax in this garden. Here's my story about this place. See you in my next story. See you
