Sri Baduga Museum, History About Sundanese People

in Worldmappin3 years ago (edited)
Hi everybody

I hope you're okay. Some time ago, I made a story about a museum in Bandung. This time, I will tell you about a museum as well. This museum is very historical in Bandung. This museum holds memories for me. This place was the first museum I visited. But, I visited this place together with my friends. Not with my parents.

My parents always took me to a bookstore, not took me a museum. I just visited the museum after I grew up. But, it doesn't matter. This museum is a historical tourist spot in Bandung. Sri Baduga Museum. This museum has long been managed by the government of West Java. This museum was founded in 1974. However, it was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Culture named David Joseph on June 5, 1980.

This museum is a manifestation of the love of the people of West Java for their homeland. There are many Sundanese historical and cultural objects placed in the museum. This place is very affordable. This place is close to "Tugu Bandung Lautan Api" which is a legendary field.

You can invite brothers or sisters, friends or children to introduce Sundanese history. I have always been proud of the history of the Sundanese. Sundanese people have their own characteristics. We can't pronounce P, F and V correctly. All those letters (F, P and V), would be called P. It was always a joke, even though I was very proud of my traditional identity.

The History of the King Named Sri Baduga

I want to tell you about this place. This name is taken from a king named Sri Baduga. Sri Baduga has another name for the Queen Jayadevata. The king had ruled in West Java for a very long time, 1482 - 1521. During his reign, Sri Baduaga did many things. For his hard work, Sri Baduga made the kingdom he led very prosperous and great.

In the history I read, West Java had many kingdoms. Among them, the Kingdom of Galuh and the Kingdom of Sunda. During the reign of Sri Baduga, he managed to join the two kingdoms. In the past, the two kingdoms were separated. However, when Sri Baduga became king, the Sunda Kingdom and the Galuh Kingdom were reunited. Because it combines the two kingdoms, Sri Baduga has a new name, namely Prabu Siliwangi

The name Silliwangi has a very important meaning. Siliwangi comes from the words "Sili" and "Wangi". In Sundanese, "Sili" means substitute. As for "Wangi" has the meaning of fragrant. To commemorate Prabu Silliwangi, the community built a temple at Pura Parahyangan Agung Jagatkarta, Bogor. In addition, the Confucians built a monastery to commemorate Prabu Siliwangi in Sukabumi.

From some of the information I got, Sri Baduga was a very tolerant king. Towards the end of his life, many new residents began to settle. In fact, Islam began to spread at that time. People with Hindu, Buddhist and Islamic religions live side by side. Everyone respects each other. No fuss
