Ammos & Ilios Beach Bar - Crete, Greece (September 2023)

Ammos & Ilios is a beach bar located in Agia Marina, a small place neighboring Stalos where we were staying. Walking or driving along the main street it just looks like one long street as it's connected and it's hard to tell the difference between Agia Marina and Stalos. Agia Marina probably has more shops, places to eat and better beach bars so we were lucky to be able to explore and visit some of them. Right between the main road and the beach there are many beach bars with their own parking space so it's easy to pick and choose where you want to go and finding a place to park is not a hustle at all. There's a lot of beach bars that really made sure their entrance is very pretty, inviting and aesthetic and Ammos & Ilios is no different. They have this wood and white combination that I really like, it looks simple but it's also very summery.

Passing by the beach bar and restaurant area, we are finally entering the beach! I think we came back here three or four times and it was definitely a place that the entire group liked - as you can tell we were a big group (one person is missing on the photo) and finding a beach bar that was everyone's "cup of tea" made our planning for the day much easier.

One important thing that I really appreciated at the beach are comfortable beach beds! When it comes to prices, beach beds were 10 euros for two and you get a ice cold, glass bottle of water included in that price. I really liked having a frappuccino or orange juice here and you can also order food or go sit at their restaurant for a meal.

This is the restaurant area and they also have a super cute and sleepy cat that I saw on multiple occasions taking a nap or walking around.

Between the restaurant and the beach there is also a lounge area that looks really nice and cozy. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of the food I ordered but it was chicken with grilles veggies and some kind of lemon sauce that really made a big difference in taste of this simple dish. I also want to mention the staff of this place was very kind which is always a big plus especially if you're coming back to the same place multiple times.

Here are some photos I took as the sun was slowly setting... It is a sand beach but there are some areas that has accumulated small stones that are easy to go around and water was nice and clear. Same as Stalos beaches, sometimes waves hit hard so if you're not a very good swimmer it can be risky to go in but good thing is it takes quite a lot to get to the deep water so for me, this was perfect.

A couple of spontaneous photos taken by my friend to end this post. If you ever visit Crete, especially area around Chania city, I recommend coming to Ammos & Ilios for one day at least.
