The Palenque de los Cimarrones is a unique and charming place located in the heart of Viñales, Cuba. This restaurant offers an authentic and memorable experience.
The name of the restaurant is inspired by the cimarrones, the African slaves who escaped from the plantations and lived in the mountains of the region. In honor of its rebellious and free spirit, Palenque de los Cimarrones offers traditional Cuban cuisine with a touch of innovation.
This place calls attention, since at the entrance there is an unusual bar inside a cave, which is ideal for festivals, concerts or night parties. Crossing this cave, you find a paradise that takes you back to the years of the Maroons in Cuba, since the restaurant is made up of several huts, its decoration is totally rustic and being among mogotes the views are fantastic.
The restaurant’s menu has a wide variety of dishes, from classic rice and beans to pork and charcoal-roasted chicken (a Caribbean delicacy). In addition, the restaurant specializes in dishes based on fresh fish, caught directly from the nearby waters.
