Travel with me #01 - Cerro Mirador Club Andino

Our first adventure will be a bit chilly, if you are planning to visit Punta Arenas this winter vacations, Cerro Mirador El Andino is the perfect option to visit.

Where in addition to living an icy adventure you can learn and practice skiing in any of its 11 slopes, as well as observe the sea in the background and enjoy the beauty of nature.

You can take a 30 minute walk through the snow and trees to reach the highest point of the hill and fully enjoy the viewpoint.

A curious fact is that the Andean Club is one of the few winter centers in the world that has ski slopes overlooking the sea and a wonderful panoramic view of the city and its surroundings, from its summit it is also possible to see Tierra del Fuego Island, Darwin mountain range and part of the Otway Sound.

At the lookout you have access to a 1200 meter chairlift, which has a fee of $ 20 with full day use, also the ski center has equipment for snowboarding, downhill skiing and cross country skiing. And in summer they have equipment to practice Canopy, mountain biking and horseback riding.

To enter the club is totally free, inside if you want to practice something or consume something in the cafeteria shelter that they have available if you will have to pay some cost. Equipment rates range from $17 to $23.

As I mentioned before, they have a shelter with a capacity for 120 people, which houses the cafeteria, restrooms and the large module where the office of the Ski School, equipment rental and custody is located. The cafeteria is available from 10 am to 19:00 pm all week during the winter season.

Together with my friends we went to enjoy the snow while we did the tour, as the costs in the cafeteria are a little high, we prepared sandwiches and hot chocolate and took them to share.

I can be certain that it is a wonderful place that transmits peace, tranquility and that inexplicable connection with nature, I love to know, explore and learn from these places, because yes, they transmit teachings, at the beginning I thought I would not make it to the top, but as I was climbing, I learned that this is life, many times we want to give up but when we get to the top, we understand that it was worth the effort made to get there.

I know it will be my first destination of many to come, and I will be happy to share it with you, so thank you for traveling with me and venturing into Chilean Patagonia.
