I took these shots while in Mallorca in 2018 with Mrs Moon.We were on a day out to Torrent de Pareis, you can see my post here on the west coast of the island (which I highly recommend visiting) and we stopped off in Fornalutx. There was a festival on and the streets were all dressed up for the party. This is an ancient town and is built into the rugged hillside. To get to this town and to Torrent de Pareis you get to drive on what has been argued to be one of Europes best driving roads. I can tell you we certainly enjoyed the miles of spaghetti tarmac as it weaved its way through the mountains and valleys. The beautiful tan stone gives the place a real warm and welcoming feel. It was just shy of 32 Deg C the day we visited despite being high up in the mountains. It was quite humid this day too and with all the steps and hills in the town it could be hard going for some. The town takes about 30 mins to walk around in total and there are lots of little bakeries and a couple of coffee shops and restaurants. We stopped in to have some of their famous orange juice, now I know what you are thinking, famous orange juice?
Every house was shuttered when we visited, mainly because of the heat, the locals know a thing or two! We trudged through the heat and explored as much of the town as we could. The town seems to be on a cycle route or at very least its very popular with cyclists as while we were there at least 100 cyclists passed through in varying sized groups. I also know that the cote de soleil cycle route is nearby. We went for a coffee and cake too in the town square and were yet again inundated with cyclists, I mean these guys really like this area. It would be quite a challenging cycle in my opinion so I can see the draw.
