My First Hiking Experience with Friends at Daat Tops - Daat, Sogod, Cebu

Hiking is one of the adventures I wanted to try even before. I don't know where and when. Through the years, I've been to different places. Neither my friends invited me nor opened a hiking place to go with me. We've been to explore beaches and other sceneries but not this. So it is time that my colleague which happens to be a friend who's into hiking, thought about it. We're also with our former students studying at the tertiary level. So we planned to do it on Wednesday because it's a non-working holiday.

THINGS TO BRING

If you plan to go to some places, you need to be ready for it. In our case, we planned to go hiking. So, we should wear proper outfits; wear comfortable clothes and rubber shoes. We should bring a cellphone to capture the place, water, an extra shirt, towel, money, and a face mask. Don't forget to put in your bag everything you need.

WHY DAAT TOPS?

I opened in our group chat about hiking. I wanted to feel the experience of a hiking place that's just near our hometown.
My friends mentioned a place somewhere in San Remigio, but a colleague suggested Daat Tops. She's right. It is exquisite.

HOW DO WE GET THERE?

We departed at 9 am by riding a bus from our residence, Ilhan, Tabogon, Cebu and, stopped at corner Damolog Sogod, Cebu. From there, we rode a tricycle to corner Daa, Sogod, Cebu. After 15 minutes, we're on it.
Then let's get it on. On our way to the top of the mountain, we started to chat about random places that we might go to next.

CHAT TIME

We talked about the adventurous experiences that made us incredibly amazed. We shared ways to achieve goals or become goal diggers mixed with a venturesome time management setting.
Life is not about constantly working in our specific field. It's also about bursting out to places you've never been before. I'm fortunate that I have all the chances to explore places with the constant approval of my husband. Never did he say "NO."

Perfection! I wonder how these creations have ever done. By the time I've seen such an extraordinary view, I feel fresh from all the stress deep within. It is the best place that fits for meditation.

MOMENTS WITH FRIENDS

For us, there were no dull moments while stepping up that mountain because we took pictures with the blue sky and mountains reaching the horizon of the sea, calling us to dive. It's peculiar if you're with friends doing this kind of feat.

ALMOST THERE...

Reaching almost to the peak part of the mountain is like competing yourself for survival to get that trophy of success. It's a nice feeling that after all the salty water that came out to your open pores (sweat) 😂 in your body, at last, you're almost there.

It's funny because I thought this was the top. I was wrong. 😂 We still have to walk through for a few minutes to reach that peak part of the mountain. So what we did, we took some shots before keeping going.

My friend told me that she never climbed a breadfruit tree and, a good idea to strike a pose. That shot is one of the best. I can feel the freedom of peace and serenity, as wide as the atmosphere beneath the Earth.

THIS IS IT...

When I reached the top, I took a deep breath and said YES! I got you. There were only a few people at that moment. While eating snacks, one guy reminded us to keep our trash. The place itself is complimentary. It took us almost an hour to stay there. We seized and felt it.

GOING DOWN...

It's almost noon. However, we're still at the top. Later, we decided to go down. As we started to walk on that road, we talked about finding a cafeteria (ordinary restaurant) to partake in lunch. Luckily, we found one along the street.
Our trip didn't stop there. Before we went home, we rode a tricycle to find Happy Kids Milk Tea Station to have some sip. After our cravings were satisfied, we waited for a bus to corner Damolog and took our last ride to our respective homes.

I never imagined that at this age, I would still engage in a variety of discoveries out there. When I was still single, I only thought of visiting random beach resorts, strolling around the malls, going shopping, trying different delicacies to some places, eating out to restaurants, and most of all working hard for the family. If I were to go back in time, I would add more escapades to uncommon destinations.
Nonetheless, I'm happy with my disposition, for the reason that I can make it now anywhere.

REALIZATION

For me, you shouldn't deprive yourself try something out of your comfort zone. Don't limit yourself. Travel while you can because you only live once. There's no need to spend that much to explore out of the world. All you have to do is appreciate simple things and simple places.
