Hello everyone, today we are back with another journey, and this time I will take you to an interesting place in Italy. This place is Bergolo, the smallest municipality in Langhe, the smallest city in Italy. This city is called "the city of Stones town" because every house in Bergolo has been renovated using sandstone. Another highlight is the frescoes and mosaics created by students of the Academy of Fine Arts, who won the competition held every year in this city. Bergolo is a municipality in Juncuneo, in the Piedmont region of Italy, about seventy kilometers from Turin, about fifty kilometers from Cuneo. It has a population of only 68 people according to 2017 data, which is considered very small. According to ancient history,
Bergolo means the place of Heather, which was first mentioned around the end of the thousandth year. In 1200, Asti occupied and held it for about a hundred years, then passed it to the Marquis of Saluso. This is a brief history. Before we went to this place, we searched for information, which looked interesting. We did not hesitate to visit this town.
We drove into Bergolo. The way up was a small hill. The first place we saw was probably a viewpoint with three bicycles parked. We continued driving into the village. The autumn leaves that were changing from green to golden yellow looked beautiful.
This place was quiet and there were hardly any people. As mentioned, it was a stone village. The characteristics of the old boat houses were unique, made of sandstone. There were murals hanging on the houses and various places. Contemporary art sculptures were seen around the village. Beautiful flowers were decorated on the windows of the houses. It was amazing. I really liked this village because it was so charming and captivating.
We drove around the village, taking photos and videos. Personally, I love art, so I was very happy at that moment. We drove along a green path with small hills to a beautiful path. On the side of the road were large wooden pencils lined up along the side of the road. On the way up was the Romanesque Church of St. Sebastian, which was another amazing viewpoint here. Even the way up is beautiful.
The way to go is a small road. The side is blocked by rocks and trees that are changing colors. It is very beautiful. We drove to park at the church and walked down to see the view. The weather was quite cold that day. There was no sun. But we could still see the beautiful view of the village in front. Nearby, there was a seat to see the view. On the side, there was a large rock. I stood on a rock. Looking at the view at that time was very happy.
We spent some time there. Then we went back. The weather was quite cold. But it was still a good atmosphere. This stone village, which is quiet, is amazingly beautiful.
