Hello everyone, today I would like to greet you with an interesting tourist attraction in Barcelona, Spain. It is a cathedral located on Carrer de Santa Llúcia, a tourist attraction in the city center. This cathedral is called the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, which is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Barcelona. It was awarded the status of a minor cathedral in 1867 and has been a historical and artistic monument of Spain since November 2, 1929.
This cathedral has been dedicated to Santa Creu since 599. Every May 3, a holy blessing is given to the whole city from the balcony of this church. And since 877, the church has been entitled that Saint Eulaia, the saint of Barcelona, was a martyr in Roman times. The current cathedral was built in the Gothic style between the 13th and 15th centuries on the ruins of an earlier church located on a hill called Tabor. Which is the highest hill of the old city.
In front of the building is the main gate in the middle between the tall pointed towers decorated in the vertical Gothic style with many paintings of angels and saints. The Nola Tower was designed by the architect August Font Carreras. It is 70 meters high. The back is covered with the Holy Cross and there is a sculpture representing St. Helena of Constantine.
The large Gothic arch divided into two parts by the same sculptor. The left side of the church is a wing shape, which is the gate of Sart'lvo. It is the oldest gate of the church and the main gate until the front part was built from marble. The shape of the arch is in the Catalan Gothic style. And this is just the basic information. There is a lot more information about this place.
We visited this place on the second day of this trip. We intended to go to the Christmas market that day. It turned out that we came across this cathedral. We couldn't help but walk to see it up close. The surrounding area is full of tourists interested in this cathedral, including us. Seeing the front, it is very beautiful and magnificent, so we can't miss taking pictures for everyone to see.
I walked up the stairs in front of the cathedral. There was a group of people who were dressed differently from others and made funny faces. We walked up to me and asked me to take a selfie with them. I knew it cost money but I didn't know how much, so I took a picture. She told us to use the balloons that were shaped like hearts to take pictures. After taking the picture, she charged us 10 euros.
We thought that the price was too expensive and we didn't want to take a picture, but she kept pushing and forcing us. At first, we thought it was 2-3 euros. We paid 2 euros. She was not happy and gave us back the coins and asked for 5, but we didn't give up. I gave her 4 euros. She spat at us rudely. It was a bad thing, but it's okay. It's a lesson. Next time, we will be careful. I didn't take those pictures.
However, I still enjoyed this place. We didn't go inside because we didn't have much time that day. We had to move rooms, so we had to hurry. Just walking around and admiring the beauty of the cathedral was worth it. After that, we continued to walk to take pictures and walk around the other side of the cathedral that goes through to the other side. There is a small walkway and an archway as an entrance to the church on the other side, in addition to the front, where people are queuing to go inside. The beauty is still visible along this small path. It is considered another interesting tourist attraction in Barcelona,Spain

Wow! it sure looks impressive. A shame you didn´t have enough time to check out the inside as well. I am sure it was nice also, and the queue was not that long. - Maybe next time :)
