After Christmas, I and my family decided to have a relaxing getaway at Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort. I had heard about this place about how beautiful the place was, but seeing it with my own eyes was even better. Let me take you through my day there, step by step, and share why it's a place I'll never forget.

Going There and Arrival

We prepared already before the day, we left early in the morning to make the most of the day. The drive was smooth, and as we got closer to Mactan, I am so excited. We also stopped by to buy some things that we need. When we reached the resort, I was immediately impressed. The entrance was grand yet welcoming, with a green color that felt refreshing and smiling staffs ready to greet us. The scent of fresh flowers filled the air, adding to the tropical vibe.
Also, checking in was quick and easy. I have observe that the lobby was elegant, with high ceilings and large windows that gave us a sneak peek of the place. I am so down, that I forget to take pictures when we enter the place. But, I will show you how the place looks like.

The View from the Room

I decided to go to our room so I told my cousin that I will go to the room and he agreed with me so that we can put our things there and refresh ourselves. The room was on one of the higher floors, and as soon as I stepped in, I went straight to the balcony.

Actually, the view took my breath away. I saw the ocean stretched as far as my eye could see, with a blend of the shades blue and green. I could also see the pool area and a strip of white beach below. I must say that I am also afraid of heights watching below from the balcony but when I saw the place it fade.

The Room

Then, I walked the room to see how it was just amazing. It was spacious, clean, and cozy. There was a big, comfortable bed with soft white sheets that looked so inviting. The pillows were fluffy, and I could already imagine myself sleeping into it after a long day. There was also a lounge area where you can sit on the sofa or even lie down with a round wooden table where you can put your things too.

This one is the hallway from the bedroom to the bathroom. As I stepped in, the bathroom had a luxurious feel, with a rain shower and all the toiletries you could need. There was even a bathtub where you could soak at night too.

My Young Cousins Enjoyed Swimming

After we finished putting and organizing our things, I stepped out immediately. I saw my younger cousins coming and they couldn't wait to sim. They were practically bouncing of the walls, so we all headed to the pool. As I saw it, it was really huge and beautifully designed, with areas for both kids and adults. My cousins splashed around and laughed non-stop, while I relaxed on a lounger, enjoying the view and the gentle breeze. As I lay at the lounger I felt so relaxed and I hear the laughter of my cousins that filled the air.

Eat Before Strolling

After how many hours I felt hungry, so I decided to grab a bite first. The food was delicious. I had a classic poolside snack that is a crispy large French fries with a creamy beverage, I think it is pina colada, and a glass of what looks like a refreshing fruit juice. It's really tasty since I like savory foods and it compliments my drinks too. The tropical background compliments my tropical snacks, it was such an indulgent snacks for me. I left the table feeling full and satisfied from the food.

Pool During the Day

After I ate, I walked around the pool area. To be honest, the pool was absolutely stunning. The water sparkled under the sunlight, and also the design made it feel like an infinity pool blending with the ocean in the background. Then, there are shallow sections where kids could play safely and deeper areas for those who wanted to swim properly. Also, around the pool were rows of comfortable loungers shaded by large umbrellas.

I also observed the landscaping around the pool added to its charm. There were coconut palm trees and tropical plants that made it feel like a paradise. From the poolside, you could see the beachfront and the blue ocean beyond.

The Beachfront

In the late afternoon, after I walked around the poolside, I decided to explore the beachfront also. When I went there, I felt the sand was soft and white, warm under my feet. The water was so clear that you could see little fish swimming near the shore.

The beachfront wasn’t that crowded, which made it feel like I had my own private slice of paradise. The sound of the waves was soothing, and I felt completely at peace. I even dipped my feet in the water, letting the gentle waves wash over me. It was a simple yet magical moment.

Dinner and the Buhi Cave

As the sun set, I headed to dinner. When arrived at the restaurant called Buhi Cave it has a cozy, romantic vibe, with soft lighting and tables overlooking the ocean. I must say that the food was another highlight of the day. Buhi cave is also bar where everyone can take time for a drink.

First, I tried this that looks like a breaded and fried meat, generously topped with fresh herbs I think it's parsley. A slice of grilled lemon accompanies it, possibly for squeezing over the dish to add brightness. The sauce beside it is a creamy accompaniment.

Then, this one is a creamy, savory dish with crispy fried onions, red chili slices, and herbs on top. It is a Filipino inspired ginataan dish it is cooked in coconut milk. It was an interesting experience, dining in such a unique setting.

Nighttime from the Pool Area

After dinner, I wandered back to the pool area. At night, the resort looked magical. The pool was lit up, and the reflections on the water were mesmerizing. There were lights around, adding a touch of romance to the atmosphere. I sat by the poolside for a while, just enjoying the cool night air and the peaceful ambiance. The clouds together with the moon lights up the sky it's one of my favorite time as I was there. It was a great time for me to reflect and feel grateful for the experience.

Midnight Snacks with McDonald's

I had one last bite of food since I felt hungry already before I call it a night. I decided to order midnight snacks from McDonald's. I feel a little funny to end such a luxurious day with fast food, but it was exactly what we needed. We laughed as me and my cousin shared fries and spaghetti with the drinks in our room, as I remembered the day. The simple joy of eating together made it a perfect way to end the day.

Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort was everything I hoped it would be and more. From the stunning views to the relaxing pool and beachfront, every moment felt special. To be honest, from the luxurious amenities, delicious food, and welcoming people made it unforgettable experience. My cousins had a blast, and so did I. It's a place I'd love to visit again, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect mix of luxury and fun.
