Hi my loving Hivers,
Greetings from Sri Lanka. Last month, my wife and I had the opportunity to join a trip organized by Gems Preschool, where our daughter attends. There, I got the opportunity to travel to some famous tourist attractions in Sri Lanka. A fortnight before, the organizing body was paid and seats were reserved for the trip. Accordingly, on the morning of the relevant day, he reached the starting point to leave for the trip. First of all we left for the first safari park established at Ridiagama near Ambalantota in Hambantota district of Southern Province where we can clearly observe the behavior of wild animals.
To reach Ridhiyagama Safari Park, you can use the roads from Ambalantota town by taking Ridhiyagama road or Embilipitiya Nonagama road at Padalangala junction and Suriyawewa road and turning at Viharagala junction. It is easily accessible from any location by traveling through the Southern Expressway.
It was not possible to take a photo of the entrance as the bus from the pre-school entered the starting point of the safari after the Ridiyagama gate. I am only including photos of animals in this content as it is not possible to get off after entering the safari bus. Air-conditioned safety buses have been deployed to take visitors to Ridhiyagama Safari Park. Otherwise, anyone can get a transportable vehicle by paying an additional amount if required.
Elephants were seen in abundance in this park. The administration stated that the area of these Asian elephants should be 54 acres. Although these wild animals do not have as much freedom in the park as in a sanctuary, they can be seen roaming freely in the land they own. A few other elephants were swimming in a lake.
The children were a little scared as they had never seen wild animals before, but they were not afraid because they were safely covered in the bus. I had experienced the experience earlier because I had seen a leopard lying very close at night in the Yala sanctuary. In addition to that, a wild elephant attacked the resort where we were staying and the most terrifying experience also came to mind.
While traveling in the vehicle, we could see a Bengal tiger in the safari park. Although the wildlife is familiar with the constant presence of tourists, the damage we are doing to their freedom is indescribable.
Like tigers, lions also got to see well-designed cave-like habitats. Ponds have been built for them to drink water. The administration provides meat for food on a daily basis.
Here you can see a separate area for herbivores living in the world. It is said that it is spread over 80 acres.
The photo, taken while the large bird was sprinting along the ground, is not very clear. Although the photos of the wild animals are blurry due to the jostling in the bus, I think you can see them in a better condition.
Zebra living abundantly in African regions is not an animal native to Sri Lanka. They can be seen only in these zoos. I was able to photograph a zebra standing freely.
A herd of spotted deer, a very innocent wildlife division, could be seen after that. Since this is a herbivorous zone, they are not at risk of being retaliated by hostile wildlife. Deer cannot be seen staying in one place for long. Their eyes and ears are constantly active.
With specially secured air-conditioned buses and jeeps, animal viewing is possible in a very safe and hassle-free manner. The behavior of the animals, eating and looking at them in the same position for some time has been created.
Lions, aggressive and strong wild animals of the animal world can also be seen in this safari park. As usual, the lions living in this safari park do not have a chance to go into the jungle to hunt animals and find food. Because of this, the suppliers who feed the lions in the safari park live in the same area. They provide the required amount of food to the lions in the evening. Every morning the lions spend time roaming freely in their territory. If you are also visiting Hambantota, it is worth taking time to visit this park.
