Some Highlights of The Palatial Alcazaba in Málaga and it’s views ~ Spain 🇪🇸

in Worldmappin2 years ago

Hi all 👋🏻

Today I want to share with you some details of my walk around the ALCAZABA DE MÁLAGA in Spain 🇪🇸 and the views I had from this high point over the city of #Malaga.

Today’s selection of some #highlights will be of 19 #photographs 😎 that are taken with my old #iPhone on 27 September 2015. At that time I was living in the historic centre of Málaga and wandered around a lot to explore all it’s corners of this wonderful city. 😊

Location of the Alcazaba on Google maps, see the yellow star ⭐️:

In the following website: Wikipedia, you find more information!

It states:
”The Alcazaba is a palatial fortification in Málaga, Spain, built during the period of Muslim-ruled Al-Andalus. The current complex was begun in the 11th century and was modified or rebuilt multiple times up to the 14th century. It is one of the best-preserved alcazabas in Spain.”

Do read up on this fortress a bit further as it is rather interesting.
It is a wonderful fortification that is well preserved.
Next to the Alcazaba we find a Roman Theater and the Gibralfaro castle even higher up the mountain. They are all connected and I will show them in a separate post in due course too, as I have visited them a few times. 🤓😉 Maybe even a more detailed tour of the Alcazaba itself, what do you think? 🤓😉

Let’s have a look at some of the details that I saw 😎

As you can see it was a warm summer day in September in southern Spain. Bright blue sunny ☀️ skies.

Lots of details are preserved in the walls as we wander around we can see them all.

Views from up in the Alcazaba will show you the highlights of Málaga city. Like the Cathedral in this photograph. Towering above the other buildings.

Looking into another direction, it shows you the town hall of Málaga. Ayuntamiento de Málaga. I love this building and all the architectural details. Take a closer look 🥰

In one of the towers we over look a large part of the Alcazaba itself and in the distance the port of Málaga and it’s Ferris wheel 🎡 (view is sideways)

The walls are well maintained of this moorish fortification.

Little details on the outside of the Alcazaba.

Water that is well guided in little canals and running down the steps.

The beautifully decorated pebble floors.

The beautiful arches. Look at the intricate details here. 😊

Another view over the city towards the other side. If you look closely you see in the foreground the bullring.

Looking out towards the Ferris wheel 🎡 again.

Cute corners… 😎

I loved the light, just reaching the plants… 🪴☀️

In the middle of the Alcazaba we find this floor plan.

Looking along the highest outside walls 😊

I was standing at a gate I couldn’t get through, but the views were nice. So I put my phone through it and took this photograph 😎

Some plants still had flowers even when we just had a hot summer. And the shaded areas are welcome 😉

So of course I had to take some close ups 🌸🌸🌸🌸 as you know #alwaysaflower should go along a post 🥰

And with these beautiful flowers 🌸 I say; that’s all for today’s post my friends, join me next time for more #adventures, #stories and #photographs 😎👋🏻 Even some #artworks once in a while will come by 🎨
Thank you so much for looking, and reading. And if you liked my post, an upvote or re-blog is always welcome 🙏🏻
Hope you enjoyed my photos and seeing the things through my eyes.
Any questions or comments, let me know. Always happy to help.

Have a great day all 😎

Beautiful pics (as always) especially the one with the little water canal.
Have a great week

Thanks @heroldius 👋🏻😊 much appreciated!
Yes, my favourite part too. It was so cute to see.
Thank you so much, enjoy yours too and make it great!

Hello dear, hope you are fine there. I was damn busy at other work so I missed your awesome blogs to visit. You had a nice place to walk, these photos are witness of it. Stay blessed, have fun!

Hello dear @shohana1 👋🏻😊 no worries, I fully understand. I was busy myself the last few days. Preparations for our country move next month. So much to do in my free time hahaha.
Thank you so much, happy you did join me on my walk and we walked through this fortress together 🥰
Stay blessed and have an amazing new week. Hope it is a bit less busy for you 🍀😊
Take care my friend!

It's a beautiful wonder!
The fourth photo- is that pillar from another structure?
There are so many details in the Alcazaba.
Thanks for showing us all the treasures you've encountered on your trips.
You are a treasure, @littlebee4 !
!LADY 😍🌺🤙

It surely is @silversaver888 😊
That pillar so looks out of place in that wall. The whole structures and fortifications has been updated and added too over the time between the 11th and 14th century. It could well be there was something else and that pillar is the only remaining part of that building.
Thank you so much, happy to share my adventures and views 😊I loved living in that city. There was so much to see, and even after a year. I still haven’t seen it all.

Awww and you are so kind 🤗🥰
Have a wonderful Sunday 👋🏻😉

Looks like a neat place. Seeing gutters like that, with flowing water down the narrow street canals is one of my favorite things in European cities. So cool!

Thanks, it is a great place to visit. I fell in love with the old town in the centre while living there.
Yes, me too. They are just amazing. And one can see them all around Europe.
Happy Sunday evening 👋🏻😊

Hello, the first thing I want to emphasize is that the photos are fantastic, they were beautiful, the other thing is that through it I fell in love with this place, I think it is excellent that you are going to make several publications showing this splendid place, September will always be a good month, because it is the month of my birthday, ha, ha, ha, ha I always joke with that, the details of the walls are impressive, the view in the heights enchanted me, I would like to visit someday this beautiful place, the photos in the foreground are simply beautiful, thank goodness there were still some flowers after that hot summer, love your publication. ✈️

Hello @flywithmarlin 👋🏻😊 thank you so much for your kind words. Much appreciated!
You know what’s funny… hahaha I say the same about September. It’s also my birthday month 🎉🥳
Up to us… 🍾🥂 september born 🥰
I will make a few more posts about this fortification and the buildings around it. They are stunning.
The Roman theatre is even more enchanting and much older. 😉
Luckily I will visit this city again next month. Maybe I have a look if I can get some more captures with my new camera 📸
Thank you so much again for coming along with me today and seeing all the beautiful details of this place.
I so hope you can visit it one day. 🍀
Have a wonderful Sunday and enjoy the new week. That it be magical 👋🏻☀️

I love the water running along the floor canals!

I have been to Malaga but I didn't know of this fortification. I gotta say I love the arab architecture that adorns the city of Malaga. Even though, most of the buildings have been modified in the course of time.. Still, the muslim style can be appreciated to a big extent. I'm a big fan!!

Thanks for sharing, @littlebee4 :)

Yes, it was really cool to see the water running of the steps.

That’s nice you have been to Málaga, you must have walked past the Roman theatre. Standing in front of it, you can see the Alcazaba towering high above it. 🤓 there is a little side street, with steps up. Rather hidden. So many don’t see it.
The thing I love about Malaga, so many styles are mixing so well. The old and the new, all the amazing architecture. Wonderful.
I loved living in the centre. Just over 2 year. Next month I will be visiting it again. 😎 will take some more photographs 📸
Have a wonderful Sunday and a great start of the new week @marilandia 👋🏻☀️

I love the intricate details of the walls. Wish to have this amazing place to walk by in the neighborhood. 😄

Thank you @callmesmile 😊👋🏻 For joining me on this walk. It’s a wonderful place.
I wished you had something close by.
Have a wonderful new week ☀️🤗

felt like I'm fairytale place. What lovely city.

Thank you so much @bluepark 😊👋🏻 It’s such a beautiful place… so much to see. It is rather large too. Will post some more soon 😎
Have a great new week 👋🏻☀️

it looks very nice and a lot warmer then it is here today , icing on the windows of cars 🤣

It is still warm here, but soon the temperature drops too and we don’t have heating in the houses in southern Spain hahaha 🤣 nights are going down to 10 degrees Celsius already. So let’s say it is getting chilly 🥶

Beautiful city, hopefully at any time you can visit the city of ALCZABA DE MÁLAGA in Spain

Thank you so much @tswandi 😊👋🏻 It is far away now, but I am visiting this city next month for a few days 🤩 so will go and take some new captures with my new camera 📸
Have a wonderful new week ☀️

I hope you can enjoy it well and always be happy

Thank you kindly 😊 that’s nice of you.
Have a wonderful Monday 👋🏻☀️
Bee 🐝 happy…

Wow - that looks fantastic. I really like islamic architecture, so would love to see some moorish examples (never seen any before). Plus a roman amphitheater too - what a place !

Thank you so much @hoosie 👋🏻😊 I will share some more from it.
Next month, the 2 days before our move, I will be in that city again. I will get some new photographs from there 🤓😎
The 3 structures together there is just stunning… all so different, in looks and age.
Have a great evening!
