Tracking Down a Refreshing Hoi An - The Days Tourism's Peaking Again

No need to go more specific, you know what you're seeing today on my post is my Hoi An - Viet Nam on the days tourism's peaking again!

I guess you have heard of Hoi An a lot, from other Hive friends, from other travelers from all over the world, Hoi An is too unique to not be known about, right?
So today, I won't go deep into Hoi An historical stories. Today you'll take a walk with me seeing how lively Hoi An is these days, and also DISCOVER SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT HOI AN THAT I PERSONALLY LEARNED BY MYSELF. Sound interesting?

Hoi An is a beautiful ancient town in Vietnam, just south of Da Nang. The Old Town of Hoi An is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Old Town Hội An, the city's historic district, is recognized as an exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century, its buildings and street plan reflecting a blend of indigenous and foreign influences. Prominent in the city's old town is its covered "Japanese Bridge", dating to the 16th–17th century.

Something that I noticed about Hoi An is people often come visit as couples - or a big group of friends. There are days I wander around Hoi An by myself - for how much I enjoy it, the feeling of coming with someone I love really makes it so much more special...

In Hoi An, there are plenty things to try out - food - here I mean food haha. Remember to try tofu though - great dessert for these sunny days. Guess what? The current temperature in Hoi An now is 40-42C. And Hoi An doesn't use AC 😆

You might be very surprised when you get there and can't find coffee shops with AC. I guess people know they would pay a massive electricity bills if they use AC all over this season... Fun fact!

Boats! Get on one of them sailing around. Go at night so you have the best check-in photos.

Do you see the eyes of the boats?
A secret you might have not known about those eyes is: The boat eyes in the South are round, but ones in Central Viet Nam are flat.

Reason is? Central Viet Nam is known as having very harsh weather, especially with lots of rain, strong storms, bad wind, and bad floods.
Eyes on boats are meant for the boats to see things through while sailing on the river and ocean. They are the spirit of the boats, the soul of the boats. They scare monsters under water away... They lead the way and bring us human back home safely.

With how much of wind, storm and rain the boats have to face, they naturally have to squint their eyes (like us human do) to protect their eyes, to keep seeing the way.
Aww that's why we paint those eyes flat. Sounds so cute right? haha

While in the South, the water is more calm, so the boat eyes are around and open widely.

There are also plenty of organic drinks and juice to try out. Oh they are must-try drinks! My buddy used to call me "stupid head" when I said I never knew those drinks until he got me one haha.

The peaceful vibe of Hoi An makes life feel so slow and calm. There is no motor vehicle inside the ancient town, so what these cyclo drivers do is to make "mouth horn" haha
They go like this from behind your back: "bip bip, bip bip bip bip" 🤣

Alright, not a funny experience.. but those "bird sellers" let those flying birds hit my head all the time 🤣

Riding around Hoi An on bicycle with your love is such a romantic thing to do...

It's the first time I see a woman do this kind of work.. In Viet Nam, women seem to do ANYTHING EVERYTHING...

Sometimes I love how my photos look like they are post cards from some super famous photographer haha 🤣

This... simple but is actually my most favorite photos this time 😅 I love green....

It felt so good to be lost in a big crowd again - I mean, once in awhile haha
It just warmed my heart to see reunions when covid ends, see people being able to travel again, see plans that were delayed now on progress again...
Everything is just blooming again in its own way...

Another day after this day when I took these photos (this trip was solo), I came back to Hoi An with someone I love, on a big motorcycle. We did not get into the ancient town. We took long ride to random places that we just found out on google map 5 mins before. We were roaming. We were screaming. We were singing as we were passing by the endless paddy fields...
I had no idea he had to leave here the following day because of some sudden things that happened... Right now he is miles and miles away. And we don't even know when we'll meet again..

Such life, yesterday you were alone, today you are not alone, and tomorrow you have no idea that you have to be alone again. The lesson is to always be present and enjoy any moment we have with our loved ones.. make as many memories as possible. Be crazy, be bold, be happy!

Hoi An is still there, beautiful, peaceful. Hoi An is for anyone, doesn't matter you're alone or you're with someone. If you want it, just do it!
