Hello Hoi an! How are you doing?
A thoughtful question in this pandemic season.
Covid 19 looks like “ a storm” and rolls away the days of noise and bustle in the old town 2 years ago. However, It also returns the silence and peace which belonged to Hoi an ancient town about 20 years ago. It creates a fanciful shimmering picture at night time.

Hoi An is located in central Vietnam which is far from DANANG city about 25 km. The place is surrounded by Hoai River( a small brand of Thu Bon river in Quang Nam). So it has both nostalgic and poetic features. It brings the nostalgic beauty and friendly of Hoi An people together with traditional villages, countryside tours, and special food there. That is what has attracted thousands of tourists to this land.
The town was very busy with thousands of visitors every day 2 years ago. But now due to the complicated covid situation, the number of tourists has decreased. Hundreds of restaurants and hotels are closed and followed by thousands of unemployed and difficult workers.

How to adapt in new normal life
Most Hoi an’s people live by traveling such as hotels, restaurants, tailors..etc..Covid 19 makes us find the potential ability beside it. When covid-19 arrives, we have to find a way to adapt to a new life. So They try to get experience for other jobs : sales online,english teacher ..etc…As long as we can earn an income and meet our current life.
I am a lucky person when after leaving travel and then can work a merchandiser position at the tent factory. Here I learned many interesting things, met new friends, and also gained production experience.
We have to thank Covid-19 for "giving" us so many lessons. The first is health, nothing is more important than health and it is we who are the best protectors of health. It is not until the Covid-19 epidemic knocks on the door that we wish we could take better care of our own health and those around us.

Many people look forward to the day they will return to Hoi an and enjoy the new normal day in Hoi an

A Hoi An will come alive again with each cultural story displayed on the streets. There will be musical groups, street art performance groups... cheering up an old town after a long quiet time.

After 2 years of quiet waiting, opening and closing again because of covid-19, on the morning of November 20, Hoi An officially welcomed the first international delegation to visit the old town. From early morning, the preparation atmosphere was very exciting, extremely exciting.
It is known that the delegation of 50 tourists brought the vaccine to Vietnam by charter flight under a closed program.

Hopefully we will overcome this pandemic together and that peace will return to its excitement and noise.
